Microprocessor Technician

 

Responsibilities:

 

  1. Maintain electrical, electronic, and computer systems throughout the plant.
  2. Maintain documentation on various systems throughout the plant.
  3. Assist quality facilitators and process engineers in solving quality problems.
  4. Participate in one safety sub-committee (Engineering).
  5. Assist contractors in the installation of new equipment or upgrading of existing equipment.
  6. Maintain spare electronic equipment and parts.
  7. Work with vendors to order parts, complete part ordering process using appropriate requisition.
  8. Assist control equipment technicians, shift mechanics, and or other associates with troubleshooting electrical problems.
  9. Help train other Technicians.
  10. Participate in on or off-site training as required.
  11. Organize and Perform PM on machines as scheduled and coordinate other team members PM tasks.
  12. Organize and Perform PDM on machines as scheduled and follow up on.
  13. Partner with IS on solutions for PLC and HMI issues.

 

Schedule:

 

Monday through Friday; 1st shift (7AM – 3PM)

Available for call-ins (emergency)

Available to work overtime or other shifts if needed

 

Knowledge/Skills:

 

  • Knowledge of general safety procedures including, LTCT, proper PPE and 70E arc flash standards
  • Understanding and troubleshooting of electrical (AC and DC) and control systems
    • Power distribution
    • Relay logic
    • Electrical print reading
    • PLC programming and troubleshooting
    • Drive wiring and programming
    • Control equipment including: RTDs, flow meters, D/P cells, I/Ps, load cells, positioners, compensators, etc
    • Voltages up to 600VAC
    • Motors AC and DC
  • Troubleshooting mechanical systems
  • Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Troubleshooting combustion systems including burners, fans and pressure switches
  • Lift 50 lbs. and operate powered industrial vehicles (scissor lift, fork lift, boom lift)
  • Documentation and root cause analysis (5 Why)
  • Organization of spare parts inventory
  • Read electrical schematics
  •

  • Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc)
  • PLCs (Allen Bradley, GE, Siemens, etc)
  • PLC software and ladder logic
  • Honeywell controllers
  • Bus systems (Devicenet, Ethernet, etc)
  • Drives (Fincor, Yaskawa, Siemens, Magnetek, etc)
