JOB TITLE:              Warper Creeler           

 

REPORTS TO:         Warping Production Manager

 

PURPOSE:               

To safely and efficiently creel a warper marching and create first quality warping beams through following set specification

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:        

  1. Creel and Tie-In yarn packs within production standards
  2. Inspect yarn packs and creels, meeting set specification requirements.
  3. Observe and handle off quality yarn packs
  4. Keep creels clean

 

SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Ability to work safely
  2. Ability to read and write and follow directions
  3. Ability to comprehend written and verbal instructions
  4. Ability to understand and follow warper creeler standard work procedures
  5. Ability to identify and classify defects by combination of visually inspecting and touching yarn.
  6. Ability to pass warper creeler tests and become certified by consistently performing standard work as required.
  7. Ability to use scissors
  8. Ability to tie 3 specific knots
  9. Ability to gauge a creel and know when more yarn is needed
  10. Ability to work as a team.
  11. Good communication skills

 

 

MACHINES, TOOLS, MATERIALS, AND EQUIPMENT:

Creel, Flashlight, Apron, Scissors, Retractable Pen Knife, Pen, Ladder, Yarn, Push Trucks

 

AUTHORIZED TRAINING TIME:  8 Weeks

  1. Standing:  

Ability to stand loading creels, tie-in yarn parks

  1. Moving

Move freely throughout the warper department, including walking the machine fronts and walking in the creels

  1. Lifting:

Ability to lift yarn packs 1-20 pounds

  1. Push

Use a broom and dust pan.  Push yarn trucks

  1. Reach:

Ability to reach yarn above head and tie-in yarn packs in creels

  1. Bending:  

Ability to pick up objects from the floor. Ability to bend under yarn sheds and eyeboards.  Ability to bend to ground.

  1. Hand dexterity

Ability to tie 30-40 denier yarn into tiny and exact knots

  1. Access

The ability to step up and down one, two and 3 step ladders and catwalks

  1. Walking

Ability to walk through the plant to get to work station, meeting rooms, break area, and to perform audits.

  1. Visual Acuity:

Ability to see tiny defects in yarn.  Perform thorough visual inspection of yarn and yarn shed.  Identify large and small defects and correct or document.

Ability to work around polyester, nylon and acetate

Ability to work in a conditioned indoor environment where temperature varies with the weather.
