JOB TITLE:              Inspector

REPORTS TO:         Inspection VOH Supervisor & Department Manager

 

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

 

  1. Organized, dependable, and self-motivated with an acceptable performance record
  2. Ability to work a flexible work schedule possibly including weekends
  3. Basic written and communication skills
  4. Able to read tape measure/ruler

 

SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

 

  1. Experience with inputting information into Barco boxes
  2. Experience recognizing departmental defects
  3. Understand product flow of fabric
  4. Understand where issues may arise to allocate defects to the correct department
  5. Pass Sewing Academy

 

MACHINES, TOOLS, AND EQUIPMENT:

 

  1. Barco Boxes
  2. Sewing Machines
  3. Manual Inspection Tables

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  1. Knowledge and implementation of all general plant safety rules
  2. Know and properly maneuver around all pinch and nip points on machinery
  3. Wear proper PPE required for area and tasks
  4. Visually inspect cloth for defects while manually operating inspection table with foot pedal
  5. Make quality decisions regarding defects on inspection frame
  6. Record number and types of defects in Barco boxes
  7. Measure length or width of article to detect variation from customer or plant specifications
  8. Cut samples as necessary for further review by Quality Assurance
  9. Keep work area clean and presentable up to 5S standards at all times.
  10. Follow proper policies and procedures set out by department including, but not limited to: using safety chains on A-Frames, compressed air safety, knowledge of all E-stop and pull cord locations, etc.
