JOB TITLE:              Process Improvement Engineer


REPORTS TO:         Process Improvement Manager




  1. Knowledge of all general plant safety rules
  2. Identify and complete projects that directly impact quality and cost improvements for area of ownership
  3. Ensure that process produces a product that meets customer specific testing specifications
  4. Develop associates to perform at their highest potential
  5. Establish documented ISO Procedures
  6. Sustain 5-S process
  7. Meet goals set by Process Improvement Manager
  8. Follow policies and procedures set out by department and location
  9. Prioritize projects and responsibilities as needed
  10. Foster a positive working environment and assist and support the department PIA and production associates




  1. Ability to read and write and follow directions
  2. Ability to comprehend written and verbal instructions
  3. Advanced problem-solving capabilities.  Technical background preferred. (Science, engineering, math etc.)
  4. Computer skills, including: Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and SAP
  5. Excellent communication skills
  6. Strong self-discipline
  7. Ability to accurately report results & file records. Strong Organization skills.
  8. Ability to foster interplant communication and communication with other department managers and supervisors
  9. Ability to increase productivity and foster a positive learning environment
  10. Ability to report data in a clear manner and present that data in a way that fosters positive change to processes and procedures




  1. Four-year degree in management, science, math, or engineering
  2. Relative work experience
  3. Basic written and communication skills.
  4. Must be able to communicate with hourly associates in various situations including training, career conversations, disciplinary, and recognition.
  5. Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screening.




  1. Knowledge of department procedures and ability to lead and train others when questions arise.
  2. Publish safety incident reports and ensuring proper countermeasures are completed.
  3. Quality and cost improvements for product and department.
  4. Communicate with production associates, customers, development team and salespeople when needed
  5. Assist with interviewing associates for department positions
  6. Develop, update, and sustain ISO procedures / Standard Operating Work Instructions  




  1. Standing:             Ability to stand while working                                                                  up to 50% of day
  2. Sitting:                  Ability to sit down for data entry/computer work                                 At least 50% of day
  3. Moving:                Ability to move throughout plant:                                                                  15% of day
  4. Lifting:                 Ability to lift up to 25lbs:                                                                               5% of day
  5. Climbing:             Ability to walk up stairs,                                                                                 5% of day
  6. Push/Pull/Reach: Ability to push/pull cabinet drawers, empty boxes, reach for documents     75% of day
  7. Bending:               Ability to pick up objects from the floor                                                        25% of day
  8. Walking:              Ability to walk through out the lab on hard concrete surface                         75% of day
  9. Visual Acuity:      Ability to read documents, computer screens, run equipment                       100% of day
  10. Work Environment: Ability to work in an air conditioned office environment

while intermittently working in a manufacturing environment including:

                                         Temperatures in excess of 100 degrees Fahrenheit,

                             Humidity level in excess of 98%                                                            100% of shift
