POSITION TITLE

Strategic Key Account Manager, Agriculture

 

POSITION OVERVIEW

Milliken’s Chemical Division is looking for a Strategic Key Account Manager to manage multi-national accounts that support our colorants, polymer and additives business into the Agriculture market segment. In this account management role, reporting to the Director of Agriculture, your primary role is creating an account management strategy for growing a global seed treatment and crop protection business, bringing voice of the customer back to our R&D group to help develop and support our innovation strategy, and provide new business development skill as we enter new customers and market segments. As a part of global business, strong leadership skills will be needed to successfully manage this role. This position is remote with expectations that this person will come to our Headquarters in Spartanburg, SC for training and collaboration. Travel requirements are up to 50%.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Understanding of the Agriculture market segments, with experience in seeds, seed treatments, crop protection active ingredients. Experience in fertilizer, turf and ornamental chemistries is also a plus.
  • Experience in key account management of multi-national companies and ability to engage multi-national seed treatment and crop protection companies to identify areas of collaboration potential.
  • Ability to understand how changing regulatory conditions create business risk and opportunity.
  • Ability to facilitate technical direction with understanding of Agriculture formulations, treatment applications, and equipment used.
  • Global customer interaction to help translate market needs and technology gaps toward building and executing a growth based strategy.
  • Working with the global sales and marketing teams in value proposition translation and communication to customer base
  • Build strong networks and affiliations within key market segments to support growth initiatives within Agriculture market segment

 

QUALIFICATIONS - REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience in sales, key account management, & strategy
  • Agriculture chemistry experience and formulation knowledge in the area of seed treatment, foliar applications, turf& ornamental
  • Comfortable engaging with customers in North America and Europe
  • Engaging and self-motivated team player
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills – written and verbal
