The Senior Distribution Specialist is responsible for receiving; put away; order processing; picking; order preparation; shipping; and physical inventory responsibilities at the Redwood Distribution Center (DC). Senior Distribution Specialist reports to the Operations Manager.

 

DUTIES:

The Senior Distribution Specialist is responsible for completing all tasks assigned by the Supply Chain Manager and the Warehouse Facilitator at the Supply Chain Manager’s discretion.

 

SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL

  • Follow all Redwood procedures to ensure no negative impacts on the Environment, Health, Safety and Responsible Care processes of Milliken Chemical.
  • Comply with safety regulations when handling hazardous material.
  • Participate on a safety team.
  • Completes all required regulatory training.

 

SPECIFIC DUTIES

  • Review the orders scheduled to ship from Redwood.
  • Create Deliveries of sales orders, stock transport orders, and sales samples for the day.     
  • Print Pull List, if necessary.
  • Create Shipment and print Bill of Ladings and shipping labels.
  • Review Special Handling Requests and take necessary action.
  • Prepare Export Orders – these include orders going to Europe, Korea, Singapore, South America,  Canada, Mexico, etc.
  • Complete Order Tracking Log and assemble paperwork for each shipment.
  • Make arrangements with Carriers to pick up orders and prepare Daily Truck Log.
  • Prepare UPS and Fed Ex shipments by filling out appropriate paperwork.
  • Prepare paperwork and complete SAP transactions for any shipments going to customers, outside warehouses, toll manufacturers and other Milliken locations.
  • Prepare paperwork and complete SAP transactions for sample shipments.
  • Help investigate causes of inventory errors pertaining to shipments.  Make SAP adjustments.  Re-do order, if necessary.
  • Maintain Bills of Lading files on a daily basis.
  • Ensure inventory has been properly relieved and generate invoices for all products shipped.
  • Provide assistance and information to the Traffic Department to file Carrier Claims.
  • Assist with investigations regarding Customer Complaints when needed.
  • Perform Quarterly Inventory – un-allocation of orders on Friday and other related duties.
  • Aware and knowledgeable of appropriate environmental and DOT regulations pertaining to shipment of materials and wastes.
  • Understand environmental policy, objectives, and programs, and comply with all aspects of the Environmental Management System.
  • Be knowledgeable in all aspects of domestic and international shipping regulations and requirements.
  • Be knowledgeable of other Administrative Associate job functions.  These functions will be determined on an “as needed” basis.
  • Perform additional duties as requested by the SC Leads, Operations Technician, Team Leader, Process Facilitator, or the Operations Manager. 

 

General Duties

 

  • Participate in Plant safety process.
  • Understand environmental policy, objectives, and programs, and comply with all aspects of Environmental Management System.
  • Follow all plant procedures to ensure no negative impacts on the environment, health, safety, security, and Responsible Care processes of Milliken Chemical.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: High School diploma or GED (General Education Diploma) equivalency.

 

  • Preferred Experience
    • General shipping & receiving experience.
    • PC literate with experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
    • Forklift driving experience, including swing reach preferred.
    • Hazardous Shipping Certifications, preferred.
