POSITION TITLE  

Supply Chain Inventory, Distribution & Analytics Specialist 

 

 

POSITION OVERVIEW 

The Supply Chain Inventory, Distribution & Analytics Specialist supports the Director of Supply Chain and Supply Chain Managers by providing analytical, operational, and process support across inventory management, distribution execution, supply planning, and IBP readiness. This role strengthens current operations while building the foundational capabilities required for future IBP maturity. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, data-driven, and eager to grow into broader planning or IBP responsibilities as the organization matures. 

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Monitor inventory levels across sites, warehouses, and product families; identify excess, slow-moving, and at-risk inventory; and support mitigation actions. 

  • Assist in setting inventory targets, safety stock parameters, and replenishment logic while tracking and reporting key inventory KPIs such as turns, DOI, aging, obsolescence, and accuracy. 

  • Coordinate distribution planning, allocation decisions, order fulfillment analysis, transportation performance, service levels, logistics cost trends, and expedited freight approvals. 

  • Maintain distribution-related master data, including lead times, transit times, and location attributes; conduct root-cause analysis for stockouts, late shipments, and distribution failures. 

  • Support supply planners with material availability analysis, exception management, supply planning data readiness, and reconciliation of supply plans with inventory and distribution realities. 

  • Build and maintain dashboards, recurring reports, KPI scorecards, and analytics for inventory, supply, distribution, and service using tools such as Excel, Power BI, or similar platforms. 

  • Support root-cause analysis, continuous improvement initiatives, data quality improvements, standardization, and master data governance. 

  • Prepare data packages for supply, inventory, and distribution reviews; track actions, risks, and decisions from IBP sessions; and support scenario planning. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS - REQUIRED 

  • 2+ years of experience in supply chain, inventory, logistics, or planning. 

  • Strong analytical skills; advanced Excel required. 

  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems; SAP preferred. 

  • Ability to interpret data and translate insights into actionable recommendations. 

  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills. 

  • Detail-oriented, organized, and process-driven. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS - PREFERRED 

  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar analytics tools. 

  • Basic SQL or dataquerying skills. 

  • Experience supporting S&OP/IBP processes. 

  • Exposure to inventory optimization or distribution planning tools.
