Sales Manager NA - Polartec
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Polartec Sales Manager for North America will lead go-to-market strategies and drive commercial sales growth for Polartec’s North American operations. In this role you will be responsible for developing and leading a team of Sales Account Managers, setting and achieving annual goals with a focus on expanding our legacy key outdoor accounts, onboarding new clients, and exploring adjacent markets. Reporting to the Managing Director of Polartec, this position requires approximately 30%-50% travel to meet with current and potential customers, as well as to represent the brand at industry events and trade shows.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to meet or exceed revenue growth targets in existing and new markets, including goal-setting, forecasting, and performance monitoring.
- Identify and capitalize on market expansion opportunities by researching adjacent markets and establishing relationships with potential clients.
- Build, lead, and mentor a team of Sales Account Managers, supporting their professional development and ensuring alignment with overall sales goals and strategies.
- Cultivate and maintain strong customer relationships with key accounts, focusing on retention and growth through exceptional service and value delivery.
- Represent and promote Westex, Polartec, and Milliken brands, demonstrating the quality, value, and sustainability of our fabrics to end-user clients and industry stakeholders.
- Educate customers on applicable codes, standards, and how our textiles enhance safety and sustainability within their organizations.
- Conduct presentations, workshops, and "train-the-trainer" sessions to convey the benefits of
- Polartec's products and deepen customer engagement.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product development, marketing, and customer support teams to ensure alignment on brand initiatives and go-to-market strategies.
- Manage the CRM database by updating contacts, logging opportunities, and leveraging data for sales forecasting, strategic planning, and reporting.
- Achieve account metrics, sales goals, and customer satisfaction targets by prioritizing the right end-users throughout the buying cycle.
- Stay current on industry trends, sustainability practices, and technical advancements in textiles to inform strategic planning and provide thought leadership within the team.
QUALIFICATIONS - REQUIRED
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field.
- 10+ years of relevant experience, with a minimum of 5 years in direct sales and 3-5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record in achieving sales targets, growing market share, and driving new business through proactive lead generation and strategic planning.
- Exceptional sales acumen, with a demonstrated ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships.
- Strong leadership skills with experience in recruiting, managing, and developing high- performing sales teams.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and educate stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficiency in Salesforce and other CRM tools, along with strong computer skills for daily activities.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
