POSITION TITLE

Regulatory Product Steward

 

POSITION OVERVIEW

This is a position within the Chemical Division Global Product Stewardship / Regulatory Department supporting both the Fine Chemicals / Silicones business and Coating Additives business in North America.  Departmental activities include the following:

  1. Work with cross functional teams to ensure global regulatory compliance for Milliken Chemical.  This includes registration and volume tracking of products, shipment of products and safety information provided for products.
  2. Provide Hazard Communication support, generation of Safety Data Sheets and compliant labels.
  3. Support customer inquiries on chemical regulatory compliance and product stewardship.
  4. Support the business units in all aspects of innovation.

 

This position can be located out of our Corporate Headquarters or remote depending on the new hire’s location.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Develop an understanding of the products manufactured and sold by the business/product line to which you are assigned.  This could include, but is not limited to, understanding the following:
    1. the manufacturing supply chain
    2. the markets they are sold into, and the anticipated end uses,
    3. the global registration status,
    4. the toxicity profile,
    5. the GHS classification status
    6. any other pertinent information such as biocide content or other regulated component information.
  2. Develop and understand US TSCA compliance strategy for new and emerging markets.
  3. Respond to customer requests for information on our products.
  4. Support the development team as new products are introduced to ensure a plan is developed as necessary for global registrations and compliance.
  5. Support the development team to ensure that Product Safety and Stewardship issues are addressed and that products can be safely used for the intended applications.
  6. Assist global team with opportunities as they develop utilizing your regulatory experience.

 

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS - REQUIRED

  • 3+ experience in a Product Stewardship / Regulatory role
  • Deep knowledge of US TSCA compliance. 
  • Minimum of a technical bachelor’s degree, Chemistry preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Must be able to work well in a global cross functional team.
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office programs.
  • Candidate must possess strong skills in attention to detail, follow up and organization.
  • Ability to read and interpret regulations for the division with a focus on long term implications.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks appropriately.
  • Potential travel up to 30%.

 

The successful candidate will have strengths in the following:

  • Experience with US TSCA compliance (PMN and LVE submission, Polymer Exemptions, R&D Exemptions and Chemical Data Report submissions.)
  • SAP experience is desired.
