POSITION TITLE

Machinist, Corporate Engineering

 

POSITION OVERVIEW

A skilled machine shop technician is someone who can make parts for a manufacturing facility. Should be able to interpret designs, cut and shape metal into parts and complete assembles. Have in-depth knowledge of metalwork and engineering, a good eye for detail and the ability to visualize make components. 

This role reports to the Senior Engineering Services Manager. The work schedule is primarily Monday – Friday, 7:00 am – 4:00 pm. 

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

· Read and interpreting blueprints, designs, and CAD drawings 

· Make parts to tolerances 

· Design fixtures to aid in fabrication for parts 

· Set up machine tools such as drills, lathes, grinders, and milling machines 

· Fit and assemble when necessary 

· Conduct test runs of processes 

 

QUALIFICATIONS – REQUIRED

· Background in machine tooling 

· Experience working as a tool and die maker. 

· In-depth knowledge of machine tools and their uses 

· Ability to read and interpret blueprints and designs 

· Extensive experience with metalworking tools including drills, mills, grinders, and lathes 

· Attention to details 

· Ability to troubleshoot and find solutions 

· Ability to communicate clearly, both orally and written 

· High attention to detail and strong organizational skills, planning and time-management skills
