POSITION TITLE
Lab Technician – Talent Pool (Future Opportunities)
POSITION OVERVIEW
This entry-level hourly position is part of Milliken Chemicals and is based at our corporate headquarters in Spartanburg, SC. The typical working hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, with some flexibility and occasional travel required.
Note: This requisition is for a talent pool to review candidates as needed, ensuring we have a pipeline of qualified individuals for future openings.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist in testing various formulations to assess performance and contribute to optimizing formulations to maximize value (specific to some business units).

Support the development of experimental lab test methods that simulate and predict real-world performance.

Learn and apply principles of experimental design to understand cause and effect.

Participate in chemical synthesis, purification/isolation, and analytical characterization under supervision.

Operate chemical processing equipment in a lab environment.

Maintain a clean and safe work environment; actively engage in safety processes.

Collaborate with team members to achieve project targets and deadlines.

Organize and communicate results and new ideas clearly and effectively.

Handle multiple projects simultaneously under guidance.
QUALIFICATIONS - REQUIRED

Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Polymer Science, or a related technical field.

Experience in a chemical laboratory setting, including safely handling and mixing chemicals, documenting experiments, and operating scientific equipment, is advantageous but not required.

Proficient in using scientific methods, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to follow instructions and work independently.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
