Graphic Design Specialist

 

POSITION OVERVIEW

Milliken Floor Covering is searching for a dynamic individual to join our Spartanburg, South Carolina Marketing team as a graphic designer. This individual will possess a strong design portfolio that demonstrates conceptual and creative thinking translated into executed design solutions. This position will be responsible for working independently as well as within a team to develop and deliver creative, strategic solutions that are on-brand, on-time and on-budget.

We believe collaboration is key for success and are looking for a creative problem solver with a sense of urgency and a focus on the needs of our internal and external customers. This role requires collaboration with other members of the Marketing Team, and will also require broad collaboration with Sales and business associates. 
 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The scope of design solutions will include print and digital collateral along with environmental applications for showrooms, tradeshows, and events.
  • aid in supporting product launches in all aspects, from collateral design to preparation for web to launch.
    Strong organizational and project management skills, the ability to problem solve, and manage complex projects with overlapping project deadlines will be a requirement for success.
  • The successful candidate will also demonstrate the ability to navigate complex tasks without supervision, demonstrate an attention to detail, and have a strong bias for action.
  • The ability to work well under pressure in a fast-changing environment is imperative. This is an in-house design position and will require an individual very comfortable interacting with all levels of the organization including collaborating with peers and managing vendor relationships.

 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or related field from an accredited school of design
  • Three or more years in-house or agency experience as a graphic designer with demonstrated ability to integrate messaging, color, imagery and type into all communications media (print, electronic, three-dimensional)
  • Strong design process that includes conceptual thinking, user-understanding and empathy, and a strong understanding of brand
  • Strong project management skills
  • Expertise in InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop
  • Knowledge of HTML
  • Video editing is a plus
  • Flexibility to work on projects of all scales and types, both collaboratively and independently
  • Ability to direct and coordinate work efforts with internal and external stakeholders and vendors
  • Basic understanding of printing specifications to work with vendors
  • Attention to detail and accuracy of information
  • Strong organizational, communication and presentation skills
  • Desire to continually improve processes to drive efficiency
  • Proficient with all office management software (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
  • Strong organizational skills
