POSITION TITLE
Director, Residential - Flooring
POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking an experienced and driven Residential Carpet Director to oversee and grow the residential carpet segment of our business. This role will focus on developing and executing strategies to maximize sales, enhance customer satisfaction, and streamline operations within the residential market. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the flooring industry, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record of business development.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Business Strategy & Growth
- Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve sales and profitability targets in the residential carpet market.
- Identify new opportunities for market expansion and product development
- Conduct competitive analysis to position the business as a leader in the residential flooring industry.
- Assess and drive ecommerce platform
Sales & Marketing
- Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to create targeted campaigns and promotions for residential customers and co-ops.
- Attend segment tradeshows for development of product placement
- Manage field sales team through target management and travel in the field.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with dealers, co-ops, and retailers.
- Analyze sales data to identify trends, optimize pricing strategies, and enhance product offerings.
Operational Management
- Work closely with production teams to ensure quality standards and production schedules align with market demand
- Advise project management team on forecast for supply chain scheduling
- Assess and manage inventory to drive operational improvement.
- Monitor operational budgets and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality.
- Provide monthly reviews to the Senior Leadership team on current revenue and opportunities in the market
Leadership & Collaboration
- Lead a cross-functional team, fostering collaboration across sales, marketing, production, and logistics.
- Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities to team members.
- Report on business performance to senior leadership, offering actionable insights and recommendations.
QUALIFICATIONS - REQUIRED
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred).
- 10+ years of experience in the flooring industry, with some experience in residential markets.
- Proven success in business development and achieving sales targets.
- Strong knowledge of residential carpet trends, materials, and customer preferences.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis and business tools such as CRM software and ERP systems.
