The Commercial Americas Business Finance Leader role supports all aspects of accounting, financial reporting, and business reporting for both the Commercial Americas and Hospitality business units. Territories include USA, Canada, and Latin America.


The Finance Leader is expected to be a key member of the Commercial and Hospitality business teams, providing guidance, advice and business partnering to the VP’s of each BU.  The position is located at our corporate headquarters in Spartanburg, SC, and reports to the Division CFO.  Travel will be required on an ad-hoc basis.



Period Closing Duties


  • Journal Entries - period end standard journal entries and correcting entries as needed
  • Provide Income Statements, and other period analysis to educate and support the busines on period performance and areas of improvement needed
  • Period Inventory reporting - report on Inventory turns, key ratios, forecast aging and product life cycle
  • Maintain budgets - Latest Thinking and Annual Plan – and analyze gaps
  • Investigate and take corrective actions on issues of concern
  • Take the lead in period business reviews, set agendas, and present the financial summaries to the senior Floor Covering management team.

  • Business Partner and sounding board to VP of Commercial and VP of Hospitality
  • Key Partner in setting business strategy across a broad range of departments
  • Strategy Execution "score keeper" and maintain Bowling Chart and Action Plans in Smartsheet
  • Help and Develop annual budgets and long-term financial forecasting (5+ years)
  • Set Payroll budgets, set and measure performance targets and approve payments and accruals
  • Support calculations for Divisional allocations, and challenge costs where necessary
  • Develop strong relations with other departmental leaders to influence financial decisions and provide strategic guidance
  • Identify and lead key projects and financial break throughs
  • Responsible for updating Hospitality pricing and communication
  • Maintain data and integrity of Sales Leaderboards & Sales Dashboards
  • Support Pro-forma financials for New Product Launches, help provide setup, and maintain New Product Development Data
  • Create or approve Capital Expenditure Requests (CER) as needed
  • Provide Reporting and analysis at detailed levels (such as market segment, product hierarchy or collection)
  • Liaise with corporate functions to seek adherence with corporate policy and legal guidelines
  • Responsible for accuracy of rebate payments, reporting and maintaining relationships
  • Provide leadership and support and coaching to other Controllers within the Division and work closely with all members of the Floor Covering finance team.
  • Provide support and coaching to Regional Sales Managers and other department managers as required
  • Finance Liaison with company vehicle supplier
  • Finance Liaison with CRI – Provide details and data submission
  • Approval of T&E reports for cost centers owned
  • Ad hoc reporting as needed by Divisional Leadership team



  • BS Degree – Accounting or Finance
  • CPA, CMA experience/designation preferred
  • +7 years of professional experience in Finance/Accounting
  • Demonstrated analytical ability to manipulate, analyze and interpret large amounts of data
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills and Microsoft Office proficiency
  • SAP or major ERP system experience is preferred
