POSITION TITLE

Sales Manager – Milliken Cable Management Business

 

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Cable Management Business:  This project-based business provides fiber optic cable installation solutions to the data communications market.  MaxCell® fabric flexible innerduct platform, serves as the foundation of the business.  Additional complementary platforms are Vis™ Divide HDPE rigid conduit and Vis branded pulling tape.

 

Position Summary:  This position is responsible for establishing and executing the tactical plan to drive growth in the region.  This leadership position also serves as the primary contact to our business strategic partner.  Our field team complements our strategic partner in MaxCell demand creation sales, while having direct responsibility for Vis branded product sales.  This person will also work with our strategic partner ex-US teams to support their training needs, local tactical plans, and general guidance to promote/sell MaxCell.   The position requires 40% travel.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Accelerate revenue growth - develop tactical plan and drive execution
  • Serve as coach and mentor to the field sales team.  Foster a sense of team to leverage learnings to help collectively drive the businessPrimary contact for TVC counterpart; Mike Miller
    • Develop peer-to-peer relationship with Miller and drive discussions towards actionable plans
  • Participate in the quarterly Steering Committee meetings with our strategic partner
  • Vis Tape sales channel management
    • Determine how the channels will be managed and monitored for performance
    • Determine effective and efficient way to support and disseminate information
    • Align with sales agents on goals and frequency of performance updates
    • Sales agents & distributors – understand engagement need differences and similarities
  • Understanding of market dynamics and identify opportunities
  • Collect voice-of-customer in terms of needs/opportunities and how they like to be engaged
  • Assist/Engage with Wesco EU and LA MaxCell managers to assist with strategy and execution plans (i.e., thought partner)
  • Execute internal tasks associated with sales leadership role – both external and internal (see detailed list)
  • Monitor/coach support organizations to stay aligned with construction market (rapid response)
  • Periodic travel to job sites to assist with installation observation and training
  • Recommend pricing strategy to management for new platforms
  • Assist business leader in the development of the business strategy

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS - REQUIRED

  • Bachelor Degree in related field
  • Minimum 4-6 years sales management experience.
  • Experience selling differentiated solutions into the Low voltage or Telecommunications markets
  • Preferred: formal sales and sales management trained
