POSITION TITLE 

Advanced Tax Analyst

 

POSITION OVERVIEW

This position will play a key role within Milliken’s Corporate Tax team, supporting the management of state and local tax matters for Milliken and its subsidiaries. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong integrity, sound judgment, and a commitment to maintaining Milliken’s reputation for ethical business practices.

This hybrid role is based at Milliken’s corporate headquarters in Spartanburg, SC, and reports to the Director of State and Local Tax. Travel requirements are minimal.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Contribute to the management of state and local tax compliance within a cross-functional team environment
  • Prepare state and local income tax returns and related provisions in accordance with applicable laws and regulations
  • Perform tax technical research and analyze state and local tax laws, regulations, and legislative developments
  • Identify, recommend, and coordinate process improvements and automation opportunities within the tax function
  • Partner with federal and international tax teams to ensure alignment across the broader Corporate Tax organization

 

QUALIFICATIONS – REQUIRED

  •  Bachelor’s degree in accounting; CPA license preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of income tax experience, preferably with a major corporation or public accounting firm
  • Strong technical knowledge of multistate and local corporate income and franchise tax laws
  • Experience with tax compliance and research software required; familiarity with SAP, OneSource, Alteryx, Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft Fabric preferred
  • Proven ability to work independently with strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities with urgency, accuracy, and attention to detail
  • Consistent track record of meeting deadlines and contributing effectively in collaborative team settings
