Position Overview:
This role supports Milliken’s Polyolefin Additives business in China, with direct accountability for additive sales to polyolefin manufacturing plants. The position requires a candidate with extensive large-account sales experience and a strong technical foundation in chemicals or polymer materials. You will integrate Milliken’s industry-leading additive technologies with our distinctive commercial model to drive growth while continuously delivering value to our customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute territory business plans to achieve sales revenue and market-share targets for the polyolefin additives segment.
- Build deep, trusted partnerships with key decision-makers across R&D, plant team, marketing team and executive leadership functions within assigned accounts.
- Identify, qualify, and close new business opportunities by translating special additive combined with polymer performance into quantifiable customer value (e.g., cycle-time reduction, physical property enhancement, sustainability gains).
- Lead cross-functional collaboration with Downstream team , Marketing, and Technical teams to ensure seamless project execution and long-term account retention.
- Monitor competitive landscape, market trends, and new capacity developments; provide timely intelligence to inform product development and pricing strategies.
- Maintain accurate sales forecasts, pipeline data, and account plans within CRM/SAP systems; prepare regular reports on sales volume, potential sales, and territory analysis.
Qualifications – Required
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a closely related technical discipline. Advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive, complex B2B sales experience in petrochemicals, polymer additives, specialty chemicals, or allied industries, with demonstrated success managing and growing large key accounts through multi level, and strategic selling.
- Proven ability to navigate complex organizational structures and influence stakeholders at multiple levels within large petrochemical enterprises, from plant technical staff to C-suite executives.
- Demonstrated ability to rapidly build trust-based customer relationships, define clear sales strategies, and mobilize projects within compressed timelines.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively and frequently, including multi-day trips as required.
Qualifications – Preferred
- Direct experience with polyolefin value chains (PP, PE) and downstream applications such as injection molding, fiber, film, or compounding.
- Established relationships with major domestic petrochemical especially polyolefin producers.
- Working knowledge of SAP, Salesforce, or equivalent CRM/ERP platforms.
