The Internal Audit Manager for the Asia Region will play a key role in supporting the company’s internal audit activities across Asia, with a primary base in Shanghai. This position offers significant exposure to internal controls, risk management, and compliance within a leading global manufacturing organization. The role involves occasional travel within Asia and the U.S. to foster collaboration with local, regional, and global teams.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Internal Audit
- Assist the Global Internal Audit Manager in developing the annual audit plan.
- Execute internal audits for all legal entities across Asia in accordance with the annual audit plan.
- Document audit findings, draft comprehensive audit reports, and communicate results to audit team leaders and management.
- Participate in follow-up activities to monitor the implementation of audit recommendations.
- Support or lead investigations and special reviews as required.
- Conduct regular audits of third-party intermediary transactions and decisions to ensure effective controls and process adherence.
Internal Controls Improvement
- Develop a deep understanding of Asia business operations by engaging closely with stakeholders.
- Maintain strong awareness of internal control risks and proactively identify opportunities for enhancement.
- Recommend specific improvements to strengthen processes and controls.
Leadership
- Champion a culture of ethics, integrity, and continuous improvement in the region.
- Collaborate with the U.S. Internal Audit team and external auditors on global audits.
- Share insights from Asia audits to support overall risk management and audit planning.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in internal audit or public accounting, preferably within manufacturing or supply chain operations.
- Familiarity with internal control frameworks and risk assessment methodologies.
- CPA, CIA, or similar professional certification preferred.
- Proficiency in internal control design and testing; experience with data analysis tools for auditing.
- Familiarity with SAP and data analytics software is an advantage.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a cross-cultural team environment.
- Proficiency in Mandarin or other Asian languages is a plus.
- Willingness to travel within Asia and the U.S. as required.
- High ethical standards and a strong commitment to confidentiality.

- Functional Reporting: Global Internal Audit Manager (U.S.)
- Administrative Reporting: VP Finance, Asia (Shanghai)
LOCATION AND COVERAGE
- Primary Location: Shanghai, China
- Coverage: Company operations and subsidiaries across the Asia Pacific Region (including China, India, Southeast Asia, Japan, Korea, Australia, etc.)
