POSITION TITLE

Senior Cost Analyst – Salisbury and Portsmouth (Hybrid Office Schedule - x2 Week) 

 

POSTION OVERVIEW

The Senior Cost Analyst will operate as the key plant coordinator between the plant leadership team and corporate central accounting functions in directing/supporting the site to meet or exceed all targeted operating objectives, including quality, service, safety, working capital, operating expenses and scrap/losses. The Senior Cost Analyst will partner with the division finance department to maintain an effective internal controls/controllership environment and ensure compliance with Milliken policies, GAAP and will provide support during internal and external audits. This role will develop and propose forward-looking solutions to drive and address plant financial issues and improve operational and financial results.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and coordinate plant reports, plans, and forecasts, goals & objectives, financial reconciliations, and analysis for plant leaders, including variance analysis and cost control reporting and recommendations.
  • Support closing activities and preparation of standard reports each financial period, including the plant period financial report
  • Advise and counsel Plant Manager on financial implications of operating strategies, cost control actions and decisions.
  • Support long-term strategic planning process.
  • Manage, analyze, evaluate and interpret plant financial forecasts and operating results. Inform management of results and recommend corrective actions to address unfavorable variances.
  • Interpret, implement and monitor corporate policies and procedures, ensure financials are reported in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and local statutory requirements.
  • Establish, monitor and maintain a system of internal controls that safeguard company assets and provides for integrity and propriety of financial transactions and activities.
  • Evaluate and approve plant capital expenditure requests prior to division/corporate management approval. Monitor and report purchase commitments and spending for all capital projects. Conduct follow-up to ensure compliance for all significant capital investments.

 

QUALIFICATIONS – REQUIRED

  • BS Degree – Accounting, Finance or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of professional experience in Finance/Accounting.
  • 2+ years of experience in Operations-Finance.
  • 2+ Experience working in manufacturing
  • Demonstrated ability in driving results thru the use of data
  • Experience with standard costing methodology, including BOMS, routings, and variance analysis.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills and Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • SAP experience is strongly preferred.
