POSITION OVERVIEW

The Maintenance Technician role supports the overall success of the plant through diagnoses and repair of t.e facilities machinery and infrastructure. As a member of the maintenance team daily activities include response to breakdowns, implementation of PM’s on the facilities equipment and infrastructure systems, and grounds maintenance.

 

ESSENTI    JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Capable of completing PMs as described
  • Capable of using all hand and power tools correctly and with correct PPE
  • Capable of Lever blade and stone changes as well as adjustments
  • Capable of ULMA plastic and lidding film changes
  • Capable of rewinder and Lever calibration and machine settings
  • Basic electric troubleshooting (Blown fuses, contactor function, relay function etc.)
  • Understanding and support of the Maintenance daily/weekly checklists
  • Capable of maintaining a clean and controlled work area (safety cones/tape)
  • Capable of maintaining a positive attitude in taking direction and redirection of tasks
  • Contributes to the stocking of parts and maintaining a clean shop area
  • Capable of correctly filling out work orders and PM forms with accurate times and parts consumed
  • Willing to engage in painting, cleaning, snow removal and other tasks related to upkeep of the facility.
  • Capable of boiler and compressor resets (including air dryers)
  • Any other duties assigned by supervisor
  • All repairs are made in the proper fashion and are conducted with professionalism and in a manner that would be acceptable to a tradesman
  • Manages toolbox in a clean and 5S complaint way

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • All trainee criteria met
  • 3 months successful experience at the trainee level
  • Ambition and Integrity in work focus and paperwork completion.

 

SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong interpersonal skills required
  • Strong computer skills
  • Ability to function in a high paced environment

 

AUTHORIZED TRAINING TIME

1 week per year

 

MACHINES, TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED:

  • Computer
  • Various Industrial Hygiene Meters (Dosimeters, etc.) 
  • Safety Related hand tools (Guarding stick, tape measure, etc.)

 

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT USED:

  • Safety Eyewear
  • Steel Toe Safety Shoes
  • Hairnet or ballcap
  • Cut resistant gloves, chemical gloves, etc. as needed

WORK ENVIRONMENT/SAFETY-SENSITIVE POSITION

This job operates in a manufacturing facility. This position is a safety-sensitive position and regularly works around moving mechanical parts and powered industrial vehicles. Noise level is generally loud. Temperatures can be more than 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Humidity level can be more than 98% for 100% of day.
