This position is located at the Milliken Dewey Plant located in Inman, SC and reports to the Environmental Manager working 8-hour shifts (2 am to 10 am), 5 days per week and could be flexible depending on needs.  This position is primarily responsible for managing the drum wash area.  The associate will be responsible for washing the empty metal chemical drums and crush them in a drum crusher for metal recycling.  The associate will also be responsible for managing the housekeeping of the drum wash area and loading empty drain ban drums to be sent off for disposal.  The associate will use about 40 percent of the time to be trained as an entry level Chemical Operator.  This position could transition into a Chemical Operator role in the chemical manufacturing processes over a 6 to 12-month period.  Qualified candidate is required to work safely as a team in a Chemical Manufacturing environment and to learn basic chemical and material handling skills.

  • Empty drum washing & crushing
  • Housekeeping and managing empty drums
  • Operation of a forklift
  • Complete Hot List pour ups
  • Basic chemical blends
  • Drum batching from reactors
  • Safety participation
  • Lifting various raw materials
  • Manhandling drums less than 100 pounds


Qualifications Required:

  • High School Diploma
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, work under pressure, and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Must be able to climb multiple steps, lift 50 pounds on a regular basis, pass medical clearance and wear a full-face respirator
  • Computer experience, windows-based software


Qualifications Preferred:

  • High level of computer skills
  • Prior experience in a chemical or manufacturing environment
  • Forklift experience
  • SAP experience
