The Operations Supervisor is located at our Portage, Wisconsin facility. This role is a working supervisor responsible for the oversight of our production operations.  This includes daily floor operations of processing and packing of product. The Operations Supervisor will guarantee that manufacturing remains a smooth and efficient process by monitoring and directing day-to-day work for production employees and organizing workflows. He/she helps drive initiatives that support the plant meeting safety, quality, delivery, cost and engagement goals. This position manages a group of production associates.

  • Maintain up to date documentation of SOP’s, training materials, and job expectations
  • Minimize employee overtime by maintaining proper staffing levels
  • Set and communicate daily/weekly/monthly objectives and direct day-to-day work for all production employees across all shifts
  • Organize workflow by assigning responsibilities and preparing schedules
  • Achieve high levels of customer satisfaction through excellence in receiving, identifying, dispatching and assuring quality of products
  • Measure and report the effectiveness of production and warehousing activities
  • Maintain training program by utilizing standard training practices and documentation of employee progress
  • Implement cost reduction and process improvement opportunities important to the department and overall plant objectives
  • Complete audits to support our management systems, ensure process stability and drive continuous improvement
  • Identify risks to meeting plant objects and create counter measures
  • Organize and maintain inventory and storage area
  • Ensure shipment and inventory transaction accuracy
  • Maintain open communication with Operations Manager
  • Train new and current employees on SOPs and the importance of following procedures
  • Enforce strict safety guidelines and company standards
  • Identify areas of improvement and recommend adjustments to work procedures and practices
  • Confer and coordinate activities with other departments

  • Ability to wear a respirator as required by the task being performed or chemical safety data sheets.
  • Work safely around and appropriately handle hazardous chemicals around plant.

  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)


The successful candidate will have strengths in the following:

  • Prior supervisory or leadership experience in production or warehouse environment desired
  • Degree in operations/shipping/receiving/logistics or equivalent work experience, preferred
  • Proven ability to direct and coordinate operations
  • Highly effective supervisory skills and techniques
  • Knowledge of production and/or warehouse machinery, tools, software packages and MS Office proficiency
  • Ability to input, retrieve and analyze data
  • Hands-on commitment to getting the job done
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational, leadership abilities and time management skills
