POSITION OVERVIEW
The Distribution Specialist is responsible for the safe loading and unloading of raw materials, finished goods, production and handling equipment. Duties include following SOP’s to ensure critical process steps are completed timely, safely and in the sequence required to support the company ERP system and other plant functions.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Accurate and timely completion of inbound receipts and outbound shipments
- Safe handling of equipment and materials, understanding the hazards and proper utilization of PPE
- Effective communication with team members
- Coordinate daily activities to maintain on-time production, shipping and receiving schedules
- Work overtime to cover vacancies/vacations and meet Customer requirements, including weekends
- Train new or less experienced team members
- Cross train to other processes and positions for business continuity and flexibility
- Installation of protective devices such as; bracing, padding, or strapping, to prevent shifting or damage to items being transported
- Operate liquid filling system to package finished goods/products
- Label materials accurately
- Completion of micro bio sampling and delivery from production
- Follow SOP’s to ensure operational safety, product integrity, and maintain equipment functionality
- Inspect and safely operate hoists, forklifts, and other equipment (dock locks, straight truck, pallet jacks, etc.)
- Maintain 5S standards
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts
- Maintain communication within and between shifts
- Attend all plant meetings and complete all trainings on time
- Complete other duties as assigned
- Ability to occasionally push, pull and carry up to 60 pounds
- Ability to wear a respirator as required by the task being performed or chemical safety data sheets.
- Work safely around and appropriately handle hazardous chemicals around plant.
QUALIFICATIONS - REQUIRED
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- Accountability – Ability to accept responsibility and account for his/her actions

- Detail Orientated – Ability to pay attention to all details of a project or task and the ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly

- Flexibility – Ability to work through change while maintaining a positive attitude
The successful candidate will have strengths in the following:
- Forklift experience preferred, but not required
- Prior experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment preferred, but not required
- Keyboarding and general computer knowledge/experience preferred
