RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Weaver is responsible for operating and monitoring assigned looms to ensure efficient, safe, and high‑quality fabric production. This role includes threading, repairing warp and filling breaks, performing routine inspections, and maintaining productivity standards. The Weaver ensures all fabric produced meets quality specifications while adhering to safety and housekeeping requirements.
- Creel or tie‑in filling according to established procedures.
- Start, stop, and adjust looms when taking machines in or out of production.
- Check machine status regularly to ensure optimal performance.
- Perform doff procedures and other required Barco declarations (warp‑out, no‑filling, etc.).
- Repair filling stops, warp stops, and related loom interruptions.
- Perform warp stop repairs on Jacquard OPW styles when required.
- Smash and clear breakouts safely to restore machine operation.
- Tie knots and perform knotless weaving when applicable.
- Inspect fabric throughout production to identify defects or inconsistencies.
- Identify S‑ and Z‑twist problems in belting styles.
- Handle non‑conforming filling and non‑conforming catch selvage bobbins following proper procedures.
- Replace catch selvage spools and leno spools as needed to maintain machine operation.
- Follow procedures for straps and springs on catch selvage bobbins.
- Manage and track in‑process weaver stock.
- Complete the Pine Mountain Plant Daily Communication Worksheet accurately each shift.
- Pull Barco reports to support percent‑loss charts and other production metrics.
- Complete all applicable Barco declarations (warp‑out, no‑filling, doff procedures).
- Maintain assigned loom efficiency by managing weaver downtime to meet performance goal.
- Perform diligent loom troubleshooting at weaver level, making efforts to restore operation before escalating issues.
- Maintain assigned work area to remain 5S compliant.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Manufacturing or textile experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to read production instructions, quality specifications, and safety documents.
- Must be able to work a rotating 12-hour shift.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

- Standing or walking for 12 hours or more per shift.
- Ability to remain in a stationary position (standing or seated) during equipment operation.
- Ability to move/traverse the production floor, including accessing creel areas, equipment, and materials.
- Ability to lift and carry production materials (spools, bobbins, resin containers, waste packages), typically up to 50 lbs.
- Stooping, bending, reaching overhead, and occasional ladder/platform climbing.
- Ability to operate machine controls, touchscreens, tools, and adjustments requiring fine motor skills.
- Ability to sustain repetitive motions during extended production runs.
- Ability to visually inspect products, monitor displays, and identify non‑conforming conditions.
- Ability to tolerate heat, temperature variations, and abnormal environmental conditions typical of manufacturing.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Work is performed primarily on the production floor, near moving machinery and ongoing process lines.
- Noise levels vary; hearing protection may be required.
- Exposure to fibers, lint, dust, and particulates typical of textile operations.
- Exposure to heat from extrusion zones and fluctuating seasonal temperatures.
- Work may involve tight/confined areas, ladder use, and navigating around machinery.
- Required use of PPE: safety glasses, safety shoes, gloves, hearing protection, and other items per task area.
