JOB TITLE: Catchcord

 

JOB CLASSIFICATION: Support Operator

 

REPORTS TO: Production Manager

 

PURPOSE: Replenish packages of yarn with accuracy to the filling trees.

 

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1) Knowledge of all general plant safety rules & absolutes.

2) Operate equipment in a safe manner.

3) Meet production goals set out by department manager.

4) Follow proper policies and procedures and job specifications set out by department and location.

 

SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

1) Ability to read and write and follow directions

2) Ability to comprehend written and verbal instructions

3) Basic Math (add, subtract, multiply, divide)

4) Good communication skills

5) Strong discipline

1) Powered Industrial Vehicles (Tugger, Flatbed, Forklift)

JOB SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITES:

1) Knowledge of support operator policies and procedures

2) Completing daily team maintenance (DTM) activities

3) Auditing safety items in department

4) Pick-up catchcord waste from all looms running on production floor.

5) Pick up nylon and polyester waste from the production floor.

6) Pick up filling tubes from the production floor.

7) Bale catchcord waste, nylon and polyester waste, and empty tubes

 

 

AUTHORIZED TRAINING TIME:

2 Weeks for Certification

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: FREQUENCY, AMOUNT, OR DESCRIPTION

 

Standing: 6.5 hours a day while operating industrial truck and unloading truck and loading catchcord

Sitting: 1.5 hours a day while driving forklift and 75 minutes of breaks

Moving: Continuously throughout the plant from machine to machine

Lifting: Catchcord buckets approximately 450 times in an 8-hour shift (Weight of buckets 20-30lbs)

Climbing: Ability to step up on forklift (approximately 2 ft.) or tugger (approximately 6 inches)

Push/Pull/Reach: Pushing hand trucks twice per shift

Bending: Bending over into boxes to lift catchcord buckets 450 times/shift

Visual Acuity: Ability to read documents, computer screens, and see defects

 

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This job operates in a manufacturing facility. This position regularly works around moving mechanical parts and powered industrial vehicles. Noise level is generally loud.
