This position reports to the Post Dye Engineer.
General Description of Job Duties:
Lead Facilities/Utilities team in the safe general maintenance and upkeep, for reliability, of the location’s systems while building our team's skills and engagement for systems such as but not limited to: (security, fire, waste water treatment, filter plant, steam & condensate, power distribution, roofing, grounds, various permit compliance best management procedures, pest control, HVAC, compressed air, potable water, propane & natural gas).

Key responsibilities:
1. Oversee through delegation and direct execution the activity of all associates in the Engineering Services utility department in the execution of his/her job duties for (Wastewater Treatment Plant, Filter Plant, Boilers, and Building/Facilities Maintenance, HVAC) .
2. Safety: Adhere to, enforce, and drive the plant safety policies and programs. Promote safety and set a good example for others to follow.
- Lead the daily utilities group meeting driving daily work requirements and safety.
- Develop written documents and ensure training for safety programs such as but not limited to long form Job Safety Assessment, Lockout Hazardous Energy Control Procedure, Confined Space Entry procedures, and single point lessons.
- Continuously improve the site documentation for utility systems such as pipe drawings and labeling for compressed air, hot water, steam, condensate, fire protection, power distribution, sewer and stormwater systems.
- Sponsor one safety committee ensuring compliance and continuous improvement in that committee’s program performance. Drive the team & team members growth to team skills and participation.
3. Quality: The Utilities VOH leader has the authority, responsibility, and obligation to prevent non-conformance related to the quality of products as effected by the execution of the responsibilities of the job duties outlined in this description. Ensure the Engineering Services Utilities/Facilities department provides the necessary service and support to all production areas of the plant to better ensure their ability to prevent non-conformance related to the quality of products.
4. Carry out all duties assigned by the Plant Engineering Management with special attention to the Environmental and Utilities Safety & Maintenance calendar activities.
8. Oversee and direct all maintenance, changes, new installations and reliability of all machinery, building, properties and utilities of Pendleton Finishing.
9. Work with associates from all functional areas to develop, budget and execute Capital Expense Requests (CER's) including controlling project spending forecasting and budgeting.
10. Work with Engineering department managers to manage Pendleton Finishing assets and any change in disposition of assets through Authorization of Disposition of Equipment (ADOE) requests.
11. Perform all duties as designated under the EMS system at Pendleton Finishing Plant.
12. Ensure requirements of the utilities/facilities PM calendar are completed.
13. Ensure programs are fully supported by the Engineering Services utility department such as VPP, ISO, forestry, various BMP’s.
14. Management of direct reports needs spanning time & attendance, career planning, pay progression, succession planning, training & skill building, positive discipline and coaching, morale, and similar employee requirements.
15 Ensure department spending is maintained to lowest level through managing to budget, securing lowest cost for materials and services.
Qualifications:
- This role will require building Knowledge of building & facilities systems such as but not limited to security, fire, wastewater treatment, filter plant, steam & condensate, power distribution, roofing, grounds, forest, various permit compliance BMP’s, pest control, HVAC, potable water, and propane & natural gas.
- This role will require coordinating and scheduling contractors through scope development with daily follow up on their safety and job scope performance.
- This role will require the ability to become a wastewater operator at level A within 5 years of assuming this position.
- Proficiency in Microsoft office suite applications with ability to become proficient with other systems such work order and business management systems.

- Able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Able to work well with various groups of people such as vendors, customers, Milliken associates whether individually or in a team environment
- Able to lift and move objects of 50 pounds and be capable of using motorized equipment (fork trucks, tuggers, etc.)
