REPORTS TO:         Finishing Production Manager

 

PURPOSE:                Operate production fabric through Patriot/Eagle range by following proper policies and procedures

 

SHIFT / WORK HOURS:

 

Gaines Rotating Schedule

 

Must qualify on Two Different Jobs at Sr. Operator Rate – to reach top pay

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

1)  Knowledge of all general plant safety rules & safety absolutes.

2)  Operate equipment in a safe manner

3)  Process 1st quality cloth

4)  Meet production goals set-out by department manager

5)  Follow proper policies and procedures set out by department and location

 

SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

           

  1. Ability to read and write and follow directions
  2. Ability to comprehend written and verbal instructions
  3. Basic Math (add, subtract, multiply, divide)
  4. Ability to operate forklift and power tugger
  5. Ability to learn how to use computer system (MES)
  6. Good communication skills
  7. Strong discipline
  8. Ability to make adjustments to machine settings
  9. Ability to recognize defects and abnormalities
  10. Ability to recognize quality issues and make sound decisions based on tolerances
  11. Ability to handle all chemicals and tasks while wearing proper PPE
  12. Ability to recognize unsafe fire conditions
  13. Ability to activate the steam snuffing system

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

 

  1. Basic written and communication skills
  2. Must be able to hear power equipment operating in work area
  3. Must be able to see clearly and pass pre-employment drug screening

 

JOB SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITES:

 

  1. Responsible for set-up and operation of the Patriot/Eagle range
  2. Knowledge of Patriot/Eagle policies and procedures
  3. Auditing daily team maintenance on Patriot/Eagle
  4. Auditing safety items on Patriot/Eagle

 

AUTHORIZED TRAINING TIME:

 

2 to 3 Weeks for 1st Certification on Patriot/Eagle Exit Take-up

8 to 12 Weeks for 2nd Certification in Job Classification Patriot/Eagle Front End

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:                                        FREQUENCY, AMOUNT, OR DESCRIPTION

 

  1. Standing:             Ability to stand while operating the Patriot/Eagle:                                         95% of day
  2. Sitting:                  Ability to sit down for a meeting:                                                                   5% of day
  3. Moving:                Ability to move throughout plant:                                                                  5% of day
  4. Lifting:                 Ability to lift up to 25lbs:                                                                               15% of day
  5. Climbing:             Ability to walk up stairs, climb on ladders, climb forklifts, etc.                    5% of day
  6. Push/Pull/Reach: Ability to push/pull cabinet drawers, empty boxes, reach for documents     50% of day
  7. Bending:               Ability to pick up objects from the floor                                                        5% of day
  8. Walking:              Ability to walk up and down Patriot/Eagle Range on hard concrete surface 75% of day
  9. Visual Acuity:      Ability to read documents, computer screens, and see defects                      100% of day
