Showroom Manager – New York
POSITION OVERVIEW
Milliken Floor Covering is searching for a dynamic individual to join our New York team as the Showroom Manager. This person should possess exceptional organizational skills, outgoing personality, and be adept at anticipating the needs of others. Qualities for success include the ability to navigate complex tasks without supervision, an attention to detail, and a strong bias for action. The ability to work well under pressure in a fast-changing environment is imperative. This is a visible position and will require an individual very comfortable interacting with all levels of the organization presenting a professional, progressive image to internal and external audiences.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Customer Experience Leadership
- Lead the customer experience in the New York showroom, adhering to established brand standards.
- Foster engagement with the local design community to build relationships and promote showroom visibility.
Sales Support
- Provide daily sales support to the Northeast sales team, including:
- Meeting preparation and support.
- Support field sales representatives in managing their workload efficiently, ensuring tasks are prioritized and deadlines are met.
- Document preparation and phone management.
Product Knowledge and Support
- Stay knowledgeable about the commercial flooring product portfolio and company offerings.
- Provide timely and accurate information to support product sales and collaborative partnerships.
Event Planning and Coordination
- Organize and oversee large industry and corporate events, including:
- Travel arrangements, hotels, catering, and creative displays.
- Coordination of local interest activities to enhance event experiences.
- Develop and execute showroom-based events such as IIDA meetings, lectures, product launches, and CEUs.
Showroom Operations
- Plan and maintain showroom displays, ensuring the presentation of the latest and most relevant products.
- Manage the library center with samples, marketing collateral, and sales support materials.
- Maintain the visual appearance of the showroom, including:
- Arrangements for cleaning, interior updates, construction, systems support, and general supplies.
Client Engagement and Design Solutions
- Assist clients with design solutions, including creating product palettes and recommendations tailored to project needs.
- Coordinate site activities in collaboration with leadership and division marketing teams to deliver a cohesive branded experience.
Community Involvement and Networking
- Actively participate in the local A+D community through networking, industry events, organizations, and boards.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with industry professionals to generate leads for the sales team.
QUALIFICATIONS - REQUIRED
- B.S./B.A. Interior Design, Marketing, or relevant work-related experience desired
- Experience working in the A+D environment, preferably as a showroom manager in New York or another large metropolitan market.
- Proficient with all office management software (word, excel, powerpoint) with desire for some web-application or print (in-design, photoshop, illustrator) software experience.
- Well-developed communication and execution management skills.
- Work history of support to senior management staff highly desired.
