POSITION OVERVIEW

The Key Account Manager CPG & PU will directly report to the CPG Sales Manager in the Chemical Division in North America and dotted line to PU Sales Manager. The Milliken Consumer Packaged Goods business and Polyurethane units are strategic segments for Performance Colorants and Ingredients business unit and high investment areas for the division. These segments have a strong global presence and services both regional and multinational CPG and PU customers. This role will focus on Mexico key accounts. The key account manager will be responsible for creating significant value by maintaining existing business while developing new business through both product and business model innovations/opportunities. We are looking for an individual who can manage complex accounts and distributors while developing strategic partnerships that lead to long-term sustainable growth solutions.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • World-class key account management skills with a strategic approach for selling.
  • Set customer strategy, prioritization, competitive response, and sustain plan.
  • Uncover & translate customer needs into opportunities.
  • Organize and assemble cross-functional teams in a matrix-type organization to progress and close opportunities or resolve complaints.
  • Manage accounts within internal CRM and ERP systems including call reports, forecasting, and financial planning.
  • Organize and lead customer meetings to include aligned agenda, presentation development, sales tools, and follow-up/actions.
  • Utilize IBP processes for building out long-term planning.
  • Negotiate and implement pricing and manage quality issues.
  • Build strong networks and affiliations within key market segments.
  • Manage inquiries and foster contact with target customers and market segments.
  • Manage large existing multinational accounts and relationships as well as new business development.
  • Be the face of the organization at trade shows and help develop needed market materials and sales tools.

 

QUALIFICATIONS - REQUIRED

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or correspondent, 5+ years of experience in sales and new business development in the Home & Fabric Care, Polyurethane or correspondent Industries
  • Proven experience in key account management that contributed to long-term, mutually beneficial customer relationships in line with the business targets
  • Act with an entrepreneurial drive to overcome obstacles and achieve goals, being able to make necessary decisions even when information is not fully available
  • Ability to communicate with openness, clarity, organizational awareness, and empathy to achieve the desired results
  • Willingness to travel > 50 % of the time
  • Fluent in Spanish and English
