JOB TITLE: Wrapper Operator

 

REPORTS TO: Inspection Production Manager

 

PURPOSE: Wrap all 1st quality rolls of fabric in the Inspection Department, while maintaining department production through following proper policies and procedures

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

1) Knowledge of all general plant safety rules & safety absolutes.

2) Operate equipment in a safe manner

3) Wrap 1st quality cloth

4) Change plastic in automatic and large roll wrappers

5) Meet production goals set-out by department manager

6) Assist the checker and belt support operator in supplying inspector’s with A-frames

7) Assist the checker and belt support operator in supplying inspector’s with tubes

8) Assist and break the checker and belt support operator

9) Follow proper policies and procedures set out by department and location

10) Maintain house keeping

 

SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

 

1) Ability to read and write and follow directions

2) Ability to comprehend written and verbal instructions

3) Ability to operate basic HMI computer functions

4) Ability to operate conveyor belts

5) Basic Math (add, subtract, multiply, divide)

6) Ability to operate forklift and tugger (certifications required)

7) Ability to operate hoist (certification required)

8) Good communication skills

9) Strong discipline

10) Self-Motivation

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

 

1) Basic written and communication skills

2) Must be able to hear power equipment operating in work area

3) Must be able to see clearly and pass pre-employment drug screening

 

JOB SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITES:

 

1) Knowledge of wrapper operator policies and procedures

2) Completing daily team maintenance (DTM) activities

3) Auditing safety items in department

 

AUTHORIZED TRAINING TIME:

 

2 to 4 Weeks for Certification

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: FREQUENCY, AMOUNT, OR DESCRIPTION

 

1) Standing: Ability to stand while operating wrapper position: 80% of day

2) Sitting: Ability to sit down for a meeting: 5% of day

3) Moving: Ability to move throughout the department moving/wrapping rolls: 90% of day

4) Lifting: Ability to lift up to <50lbs: 25% of day

5) Climbing: Ability to walk up stairs, climb on ladders, climb forklifts, etc. 5% of day

6) Push/Pull/Reach: Ability to push/pull cabinet drawers, empty a-frames, rolls on belt 35% of day

7) Bending: Ability to pick up objects from the floor 5% of day

8) Visual Acuity: Ability to read documents, computer screens, and roll ID tickets 100% of day
