JOB TITLE: Transporter Operator (Support Operator – 898)


REPORTS TO: Dyeing Production Manager


PURPOSE: Support the Dyeing Department of fabric production through following proper policies and procedures




1) Knowledge of all general plant safety rules & safety absolutes.

2) Operate equipment in a safe manner

3) Process 1st quality cloth

4) Meet production goals set-out by department manager

5) Follow proper policies and procedures set out by department and location




1) Ability to read and write and follow directions

2) Ability to comprehend written and verbal instructions

3) Basic Math (add, subtract, multiply, divide)

4) Ability to operate forklift and power tugger

5) Ability to learn how to use computer system (MES/SAP)

6) Good communication skills

7) Strong discipline

1) Basic written and communication skills

2) Must be able to hear power equipment operating in work area

3) Must be able to see clearly and pass pre-employment drug screening




1) Knowledge of support operator policies and procedures

2) Completing daily team maintenance (DTM) activities

3) Auditing safety items in department




2 to 4 Weeks for Certification




1) Standing: Ability to stand while operating PIV: 80% of day

2) Sitting: Ability to sit down for a meeting: 5% of day

3) Moving: Ability to move throughout plant transporting fabric (Operating PIV): 35% of day

4) Lifting: Ability to lift up to 25lbs: 5% of day

5) Climbing: Ability to walk up stairs, climb on ladders, climb forklifts, etc. 5% of day

6) Push/Pull/Reach: Ability to push/pull cabinet drawers, empty boxes, reach for documents 20% of day

7) Bending: Ability to pick up objects from the floor 15% of day

8) Visual Acuity: Ability to read documents, computer screens, and see defects 100% of day
