DYE HOUSE MICROPROCESSOR JOB DESCRIPTION

 

REPORTS TO: Engineering Services Manager

 

Job description for 1st shift dye house microprocessor technician.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Complete work orders in AMMS thoroughly for accurate records

2. Maintain and perform calibrations and verifications for instrumentation PMs on all preparation (R400), dye house, dye services (i.e. ADR, Scanivalve, mix tanks), dye lab, and other associated areas of the prep and dye house department.

3. Assist with Mechanical PMs in the dyeing department and other departments as requested.

4. Ability to troubleshoot dye plots from QDOCs and Adaptive dye jet control systems.

5. Ability to troubleshoot PLC systems for dyeing department control systems.

6. Participate in Plant Safety Meetings and support safety sub-committees.

7. Assist with back shift mechanics and/or other associates with troubleshooting electrical and mechanical problems.

8. Assist in solving quality and production related problems

9. Participate in on or off-site training as required.

10. Work on electrical infrastructure including conduit and flex.

11. Troubleshoot and repair D.C. and A.C. motors and drives.

12. Troubleshoot and repair breakers, overloads, proximity sensors, micro-switches, mechanical switches, etc.

13. Read electrical drawings and work on electrical components on machinery.

 

SKILL REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Understanding, calibration, verification and troubleshooting of electrical (AC and DC) and control systems

a. Power distribution

b. Relay logic

c. Electrical print reading

d. Drive wiring and programming

e. Control equipment including: RTDs, flow meters, D/P cells, I/Ps, load cells, positioners, compensators, potentiometers, etc.

f. Voltages up to 600VAC

2. Troubleshooting mechanical systems

3. Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems

4. Knowledge of general safety procedures including proper PPE and 70e

5. Documentation and root cause analysis (5 Why)

6. Organization of spare parts inventory

7. Must have awareness of PC hardware components, desktop operation system software and application software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access).

8. Should possess excellent analytical skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve opportunities.

9. Able to interact effectively with management, staff, vendors, customers, and work independently, and/or as part of a team.

10. Must be able to lift 50lbs and be capable of using motorized equipment

11. Must be self-driven.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: FREQUENCY, AMOUNT, OR DESCRIPTION

Training time is based on the knowledge and education of the associate and the required certifications needed to perform certain tasks.

1) Standing: Ability to stand while operating on equipment 50% of day

2) Sitting: Ability to sit down for meetings & computer work 30% of day

3) Walking: Ability to move throughout the plant: 15% of day

4) Lifting: Ability to lift up to 30lbs: 20% of day Ability to lift up to 10lbs: 30% of day

5) Climbing: Ability to walk up steps at equipment 5% of day

6) Bending: Ability to pick up objects from the floor, etc 5% of day

7) Visual Acuity: Ability to read documents, computer screens, and roll ID tickets 100% of
