Senior Dye Technician

 

POSITION REPORTS TO:

Technologist/Dyeing

 

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Senior Dye Lab Technician will assist the Customer Technical Specialist in helping to create dye formulas per customer request that must meet all customer requirements. They will prepare materials for dyeing, test incoming dyes, run all lab equipment and keep the area clean.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Regular and predictable attendance
  • Use SAP LSR system
  • Use solution maker/dye dispensing system
  • Operate lab dye machines, heatset ovens, pads and sample stretcher
  • Operator spectrophotometer for dye tests

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Computer skills
  • Math skills for adjusting dye/chemical amounts
  • Color acuity
  • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Familiar with SAP
  • Familiar with solution maker software
  • Familiar with dye dispenser software and operation

 

SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • SAP computer skills
  • Understand CIE color coordinates
  • Use scales to weigh small amounts of dyes/chemicals
  • Good communication
  • Team player

 

 

AUTHORIZED TRAINING TIME

  • Computer/SAP software

  • lab machines: dispenser, pot dye machines, ovens, pH meter

10. Pulmonary: Ability to work around dyes and chemicals                                 50% of day

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT /SAFETY-SENSITIVE POSITION

This job operates in a manufacturing facility. This position is a safety-sensitive position and regularly works around dyes and chemicals in an area where high heat ovens and dyeing equipment are present.

SHIFT/WORK HOURS

Shift schedule: Current schedule is Monday-Thursday, 10 hrs per day. Must be able to work Fridays if required. Schedule subject to change based on order volume in the lab.
