JOB TITLE:              INSPECTOR

 

REPORTS TO:         Inspection Production Manager

 

PURPOSE:                Responsible for safely operating high speed inspecting machine to cut fabric to customer specifications, visually identify defects, and grade fabric according to customer specifications.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

1)  Knowledge of all general plant safety rules & safety absolutes.

2)  Operate inspection equipment in a safe manner.

3)  Meet production goals set-out by department manager.

4)  Follow proper policies and procedures set out by department and location.

5)  Maintain housekeeping and DTM of inspection frame area.

6)  Report mechanical failures via work order system.

7) Reporting on shift performance and maintaining visual production controls charts.

 

SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

           

  1. Ability to read and write and follow directions
  2. Ability to comprehend written and verbal instructions
  3. Ability to operate basic HMI computer functions
  4. Ability to operate BARCO software
  5. Basic Math (add, subtract, multiply, divide)
  6. Ability to operate each inspection frame in inspection (certifications required *excluding Tiger)
  7. Ability to recognize defects and classify them according to root cause
  8. Ability to make necessary quality/physical testing cutouts.
  9. Ability to verify the material identification
  10. Ability to determine correct grade on all piece rolls.
  11. Ability to cut all necessary swatches as required by BIAS.
  12. Recognition of pattern compliance throughout roll.
  13. Complete and hand in all production and quality forms as requested by the production and process engineers.
  14. Good communication skills
  15. Strong discipline
  16. Self-Motivation

AUTHORIZED TRAINING TIME:

 

4 to 8 Weeks for Certification (BARCO, Defect Recognition, Debatch Machine Operation)

  1. Standing:             Ability to stand while operating or consulting with Album Review:                       80% of day
  2. Sitting:                  Ability to sit down for meetings:                                                                   10% of day
  3. Walking:              Ability to move throughout the department:                                                  10% of day
  4. Lifting:                 Ability to lift up to 25lbs:                                                                               20% of day

                        Ability to lift up to 10lbs:                                                                               30% of day

  1. Climbing:             Ability to walk up steps at debatchers                                                           10% of day
  2. Push/Pull/Reach: Ability to push/pull/reach tubes, sewing machine, electric scissors                       20% of day
  3. Bending:              Ability to pick up objects from the floor, etc                                                 5% of day
  4. Visual Acuity:     Ability to read documents, computer screens, and roll ID tickets             100% of day
