Primary Duties: Cycle assigned weaving machines, repair stops to keep looms running. Inspect fabric for defects and take necessary corrective action.

 

Tools Required: Goggles/safety glasses, dust mask, scissors, reed hook, leno hook, apron, cloth marker, and ear plugs.

 

Materials Used: Warp yarn filling yarn, tie threads, and leno bobbins.

 

Supervision Exercised: None; receives instructions from Supervisor or Lead Person.

 

Job Procedures:

1. Follow all established Plant Safety rules.

2. Receives work area layout and instructions from Supervisor/Lead Person.

3. Cycles assigned machines and inspects woven cloth for defects and any other quality related problems.

4. Corrects all machine stops, flags all mechanical malfunctions.

5. Clean filling feeders and reeds of weaving machines using the proper PPE.

6. Performs preventative weaving to reduce stops.

7. Makes inspection cycles and initials cloth with green fabric pen; records findings on the Cloth Inspection Form.

8. Performs work in the most efficient manner to ensure the highest possible quality.

9. Maintains housekeeping and organization of materials in assigned work area.

10. Keep management informed of problems that are affecting the quality and/or performance of the Weaving area.

11. Perform all other duties as directed by management.

12. Complete Weaver DTM Checklist Daily

 

 

Minimum Job Requirements: Must be able to read and write. Must be cleared by Occupational Nurse for vision and color vision. Must have basic math and computer skills.

 

Follow all Safety Rules, and comply with the Job Safety & Health Analysis (JSHA). All Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be used as required. Any accident or near miss must be reported immediately.
