Job Title: Gilliland Plant Summer Intern - Technical Textile Manufacturing
Position Overview: This internship provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience supporting real business priorities within our Techincal Textiles (manufacturing) SBU. The intern will contribute to meaningful projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and develop skills aligned to professional growth and business impact. This role is designed to provide practical experience in a fast-paced environment while building foundational capabilities in problem solving, communication, and teamwork.
This internship is a full-time (40 hours/week), paid position that is 11–12 weeks in length during the summer of 2027, located at our Gilliland location in Laurens, SC. The position is a paid hourly wage position, and the work schedule is generally Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. The summer intern program begins in mid-May and ends the first week of August.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support day-to-day activities and key projects within the Gilliland Plant (Technical Textiles)
- Our project scope will focus on material traceability or chemical optimization.
- Conduct research, analysis, or data review to support business decisions
- Assist in developing reports, presentations, or process documentation
- Collaborate with team members and stakeholders across the organization
- Identify opportunities for process improvement or efficiency gains
- Present project findings, recommendations, or results
Qualifications – Required:
• Rising junior or senior at a university
• Working towards a BS degree ( Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial engineering major or related field)
• Able to participate in the Intern Leadership Forum in Spartanburg, SC
• Able to participate in the final presentation review in August in Spartanburg, SC
Qualifications- Preferred:
- Prior internship, project, or relevant experience
