Job Description

Job Summary

 

Milliken & Company is a privately owned, global innovation company with a rich heritage of creating solutions that enhance people's lives. Milliken's Floorcovering Division serves the commercial flooring industry through commercial carpet, entrance systems, and luxury vinyl tile (LVT), while also supplying mat products to the rental services industry. With manufacturing facilities and distribution centers throughout the Americas, Europe, and Asia, the division serves customers in more than 120 countries. This position is based in LaGrange, Georgia, and reports directly to the Plant Supply Chain Manager at the Duncan M. Stewart Plant.

 

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Experience of planning in an MRP system.  SAP is an advantage.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills.  Comfortable with the use of Formulas, Pivot Tables, VLookups.
  • Have a High School diploma, with good math skills. Higher Education is an advantage.
  • Self-motivated, having a flexible working attitude and a determination to succeed.
  • Be a fast and efficient problem solver and be comfortable with changing priorities.
  • Have the ability to be an effective team player and contribute to the team’s continued development. Build strong relationships and gain a good and strong understanding of other roles within the department to enhance overall Supply Chain effectiveness.
  • Strong communication skills, comfortable interacting with management and production associates.
  • A strong customer focus and a willingness to be the customer’s advocate in the manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work to short deadlines.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Working knowledge of SAP planning, purchasing, and inventory management functions.
  • Experience in carpet, flooring, textile, or process manufacturing environments.
  • Understanding of forecasting, inventory management, MRP, and production scheduling.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Planning materials using SAP MRP, ensuring material availability, system cleanliness and having a good understanding of the principles of MRP.
  • Troubleshooting of problems within SAP and having or developing sufficient system knowledge to achieve super-user status.
  • Creating manufacturing and purchasing schedules which achieve customer needs at a justifiable cost.
  • Maintaining and reviewing inventory levels in line with company targets.
  • Carrying out administrative activities related to inventory adjustments and assisting in the management of physical inventories.
  • Ensuring company On Time in Full delivery targets are achieved.
  • Managing and maintaining good information flow with other departments.  Being able to collaborate on solutions that do not sub-optimize the whole.
  • Proactively and continuously improving personal and departmental performance.
  • Maintaining professional relationships with external suppliers.
  • Work with the Supply chain manager to ensure positions are fully staffed and trained. initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures, including timecard management.
