JOB DESCRIPTION

Backwinding Operator

The associate participates in any improvement that is necessary to achieve a world class working environment.  Total involvement in our program will enable Duncan Stewart Plant to produce the best quality product in a safe and efficient manner.

Basic Job Responsibilities:

The Backwinding Operator is responsible for creeling packages and operating the winders, to include set-up and running winders to create first quality packages.  The associate will be responsible for safety, quality, minimizing waste, repairs, documentation and production.

Specific Responsibilities:

1. Creel in packages using an air splicer (package approximately 2 - 12 lbs.)
2. Move collapsible with pallet jack
3. Thread winder
4. Operate winder
5. Verify the winder is properly set up for the given product
6. Remove finished package from conveyor (2 – 6 lbs.)
7. Place finished packages into collapsible
8. Maintain housekeeping in an orderly manner around winder.  Do not discard anything onto the floor.  Do appropriate audits in the area when scheduled.
9. Complete production reports
10. Fill out yarn tickets
