SUMMARY:  Milliken’s Dewey Plant in Inman, SC is seeking a qualified individual to join its manufacturing team as an ESD Facilities & Contractor Facilitator. This position is responsible for facilitating work flow processes for assigned area of responsibility, coordinating scheduled labor within area of responsibility, leading outage planning within area of responsibility, and maintaining accurate data within plant Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) in accordance with company policy. This position reports to the ESD Leader and operates on a 1st shift Monday – Friday schedule.

 

Facilitator Duties:

  • Be knowledgeable of the OSHA VPP Star Certification requirements and assist in obtaining and maintaining of this certification.
  • Be knowledgeable of corporate S.A.F.E. Audit, and maintain procedures and equipment that ensure world-class audit scores.
  • Assist in the plant wide enforcement of all safety rules and regulations.
  • Actively participate in the plant safety process, including participation on a safety team.
  • Conduct contractor and shop safety audits and perform tool inspections.
  • Review backlog daily for area of responsibility.
  • Lead outage planning to include developing timeline, critical path, and additional work within the bounds of outage.
  • Coordinate with management team for shared use of resources, particularly during outages and major breakdowns.
  • Perform work and area audits to ensure work completed and work site housekeeping is maintained.
  • Communicate with operations area owners to coordinate necessary permits and exceptions prior to commencement of work.
  • Coordinate with equipment rental vendors to ensure necessary equipment brought in on-time for scheduled work packages.
  • Coordinate with contractors to develop scope of work, request quotes, schedule work on-site, and ensure completion of work for area of responsibility.
  • Update Maintelligence database to reflect all of the above activities with the most accurate information. 
  • Maintain outstanding housekeeping in all areas of responsibility.  Assist in developing and implementing projects to improve housekeeping in all areas of the plant.
  • Perform other duties as requested by the manager.

 

Building & Grounds Maintenance

  • Schedule inspections for the building structures, roofs, doors, windows, and flooring for damage or wear; schedule repairs as needed.
  • Maintain landscaping, parking lots, walkways, and drainage systems to ensure safety and aesthetics.
  • Coordinate snow removal, lawn care, and pest control services.
  • Monitor lighting systems and replace bulbs/fixtures as required.

Boiler Systems

  • Ensure that personnel are performing daily checks on boiler pressure, temperature, and water levels.
  • Ensure that personnel are routinely conducting blowdowns and water treatment to prevent scaling and corrosion.
  • Schedule annual inspections and certifications per regulatory requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and repair burner controls, pumps, and valves.

Air Compressors

  • Monitor air pressure and system integrity; check for leaks and unusual noise.
  • Drain condensate from tanks and maintain dryers/filters.
  • Scheduling time to replace belts, lubricate bearings, and inspect motor performance.
  • Maintain records of operating hours and schedule preventive maintenance.

Fire Suppression Systems

  • Schedule inspections for sprinkler heads, piping, and valves for leaks or obstructions.
  • Ensure shop personnel test fire pumps and alarm systems according to NFPA standards.
  • Coordinate annual inspections with certified contractors.
  • Maintain compliance documentation for insurance and regulatory audits.

HVAC & Other Equipment

  • Ensure personnel replace air filters, clean coils, and check refrigerant levels.
  • Schedule inspections and calibrations for thermostats and control systems.
  • Schedule seasonal start-up and shutdown procedures.
  • Maintain exhaust fans, ventilation systems, and emergency backup units.

Contractor Coordination

  • Conduct contractor orientation as needed
  • Verify contractor credentials, insurance, and safety compliance.
  • Supervise work progress and ensure adherence to our safety, timelines and quality standards.
  • Responsible for updating contractor records through the Milliken Document System (MDS) and other related files, this includes scanning and uploading documents

Safety & Compliance

  • Conduct monthly safety inspections of facility and grounds.
  • Maintain OSHA logs and ensure compliance with NFPA, ASME, and local codes.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance calls and coordinate corrective actions.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain detailed logs of inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance activities.
  • Track inventory of spare parts and order replacements as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree preferred.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in facility maintenance or industrial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of boilers, air compressors, HVAC, and fire suppression systems.
  • Ability to read P&ID’s, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Basic OSHA 30 Knowledge related to site safety
  • Knowledge of construction safety management practices

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree or technical certification in construction, industrial safety, or similar
  • Knowledge of typical welding and fabrication methods
  • Knowledge of building and electrical codes
  • Knowledge of typical chemical equipment, including reactors, chillers, cooling towers, and related equipment
  • Certification in PSM related practices
