Participation in the safety and environmental processes at the lab and plant level.

Be efficient in performing and recording the quality tests required to ensure products meet the specifications communicated to customers. These tests involve many different analytical methods which all new hires will learn through the established training process. Performing tasks in a manner that adheres to and promotes ISO 9001standards is critical. All aspects of the job will be learned through training.

 

SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL

  1. Responsible for participating in safety process in the lab and plant.
  2. Responsible to participate in maintaining the Quality Assurance Lab in an environmentally sound manner through promotion of waste reduction and pollution prevention.
  3. Ensure all wastes are properly characterized handled and disposed of by the appropriate procedure.
  1. Participate in programs and activities to achieve Environmental Objectives and Targets.
  2. Monitor and observe safety regulations and report all hazards.  Follow up and report progress of safety correction projects to the QA Lab Manager.
  3. Monitor laboratory equipment that will keep personnel exposure within guidelines provided by the Environmental Manager.
  4. Complete all Dewey plant required safety training.
  5. Understand RC-14001 requirements and see that requirements are met in assigned areas.
  6. Handle and Transport drums that are approximately 400-450 pounds by hand truck.
  7. Lift up to 45 pounds

 

GENERAL

  1. Be proficient in all lab processes.  Goal is to be “self-managing.”
  2. Attend & actively participate in process meetings Daily Team Maintenance meetings, etc.
  3. Log out results of process batches and report any out of spec or out of control results to lab manager/facilitator along with process engineers.
  4. Monitor lab equipment and lab standards and report any out of date calibrations or standards.
  5. Participate OFI program for the Laboratory.

 

QUALITY

  1. Responsible to adhere to the quality systems established by the Quality Manual and Quality Assurance Lab SPI Manual.
  2. Responsible to follow all established DV methods to measure samples.
  3. Responsible to approve or reject raw materials, intermediates and finished goods based on specifications.
  4. Responsible to participate in an effective measurement variation reduction program and contribute to the development and validation and new and existing DV methods.
  5. Responsible to participate in an effective preventive maintenance and calibration system for lab instrumentation and equipment.
  6. Responsible to participate in an effective raw material and supplier evaluation program.
  7. Participate in investigations of out of control lots and assist in the identification and prevention of the root cause.
  8. Become proficient in ISO regulations.
  9. Adhere to all systems to ensure plant remains compliant with ISO 9001 guidelines.

 

OTHER

  1. Work as needed to ensure Certificates of Analysis are delivered to the shipping department and that materials are out of quality hold in a timely fashion.

     2. Responsible to perform other necessary duties as directed by the QA Lab Manager.
