Senior Machine Operator

 

POSITION REPORTS TO:

Hudson Operations Manager

 

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Twister operator is responsible for removing empty beams and tying in new beams on knit machines as needed. Develop the ability to operate a set of raschel knit machines, assuring the production of first quality fabric.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Regular and predictable attendance
  • Must be capable of being trained to remove empty beams and tie in new beams.
  • Tie-In New Warps
  • Lease Warps
  • Pull over Warps
  • Haul Warps
  • Replace yarn breaks.
  • Reset stitch clock.
  • Operate Powered Industrial Equipment.
  • Operate a set of raschel knitting machines.
  • Patrols machines to ensure first quality fabric is being produced.
  • Maintains a clean work area and observes all safety rules and procedures.
  • Responsible for safety, quality, and production of raschel knitting machines.
  • Performs other related duties as required or directed.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Legally authorized to work in the US
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to operate motorized equipment
  • Basic reading/writing skills
  • Basic math skills

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Manufacturing experience
  • Textile knitting experience

 

SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Excellent hand/eye coordination
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Adaptability – adapts to changes in the work environment
  • Attention to detail – thoroughness and accuracy when accomplishing a task ensuring all aspects are reviewed
  • Ability to identify and classify defects

12-16 Weeks

WORK ENVIRONMENT/SAFETY-SENSITIVE POSITION

This job operates in a manufacturing facility. This position is a safety-sensitive position and regularly works around moving mechanical parts and powered industrial vehicles. Noise level is generally loud. Temperatures can be more than 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Humidity level can be more than 98% for 100% of day. 

 

SHIFT/WORK HOURS

Shift schedule will depend on open positions at time of hire and will be communicated with new hire paperwork. Weekends and holidays are scheduled depending on business demands. 

  • 2nd  Shift: 2PM-10PM Monday-Friday 

 

 

 

PAY/PAY PROGRESSION:

 

Training Rate:           $22.62

Certified Rate:          $25.85

Additional Premium for Off-Shift
