POSITION OVERVIEW
This position is located at the Laurel Plant in Gainesville, Florida. This position reports to the Human Resource Manager. The Human Resource Coordinator is responsible for all the administrative activities involved in the operation of the Human Resource area. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to full cycle recruitment, performance management, employee relations, training, development and communication of policies, record keeping and analysis, and onboarding. The Human Resource Coordinator will also work on HR projects for the Chemical Division. Work hours are generally Monday to Friday, 8AM to 5PM.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as Human Resources Representative for the Laurel Plant.
- Lead full cycle recruiting for hourly production and non-exempt positions, including but not limited to advertising roles, screening candidates, coordinating interviews, coordinating pre-employment screening, preparing offer letters.
- Facilitate new hire onboarding experience, including orientation meetings and new hire system processing.
- Partner with managers in performance correction of employees and handling of employee relations issues
- Participate in necessary safety and/or performance investigations.
- Partner with employees and management to communicate various HR policies, procedures, laws, standards and regulations. Assist in the implementation and interpretation of company policies and procedures.
- Maintain personnel records, files, and reports.
- Maintain up-to-date Human Resources reports and records.
- Employee Relations, vacation tracking, attendance occurrence tracking, production hiring and onboarding, Workers’ comp, manage the Production/Leadership development L&D initiatives, performance reviews for hourly production, investigations, maintain systems, maintain pay for skills, stay interviews, exit interviews.
- Assist in preparation of location communications.
- Process status changes for production associates, promotion, transfer, leave of absence, layoff, separation.
- Assist with the coordination of on-site benefit annual enrollment.
- Issue and maintain Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA)
- Log and maintain Worker’s Compensation claims.
- Create and maintain plant SPIs as related to Human Resources
- Issue paperwork for associate’s prescription safety glasses
- Responsible for other duties as assigned by the Human Resource Manager
QUALIFICATIONS – REQUIRED
- Ability to speak, write and read the English language.
- 4-year bachelor’s degree in human resources management, or a related field, or relevant experience
QUALIFICATIONS – PREFERRED
- SHRM Certification

- Ability to read and prepare a variety of documents and reports including requisitions, Leave of Absence (General and FMLA), Insurance (Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Disability, & COBRA) and other office correspondence
- Ability to communicate and interact with other associates, vendors, and the public, while exhibiting poise, voice control and confidence
- Proficient in PC hardware components, desktop operation system software, application software, Human Resource SAP, and Microsoft Office
- Able to work alone on broad variety of projects.
- Able to handle customer visits and requirements.
Ability to travel from plant to plant as need, some overnight travel (5%) might be required as well
