POSITION OVERVIEW

This position is located at the Milliken Chemical Plant located in Gainesville, FL, and reports to the Maintenance Supervisor. The Maintenance Planner responsible for the day-to-day support of the maintenance work order process, including but not limited to generating detailed job scopes including an estimation of all resources required.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manages workflow processes including screening work requests and converting to work orders
  • Develops work order packages that include:
  • Scope of work
  • Pertinent specifications, instructions, and safety information such that competent craftsperson can perform the work without questions
  • Expected material requirements, including kitting and delivery/staging instructions
  • Tools and equipment required for the job
  • accurate locations of work and materials
  • Required permits (safety, environmental, work process, etc.)
  • Estimates for labor, time, and costs
  • Determines availability of materials and resources as required, writing purchase requisitions within the work order package as needed. Coordinate with MRO to ensure all necessary replacement parts and consumables are on hand before releasing work to be scheduled.
  • Complete scopes of work for bidding work to contractors for jobs that will be contracted out.
  • Develops a three-week schedule of upcoming maintenance work and coordinates with production by leading weekly planning and scheduling team meetings
  • Leads outage planning within area of responsibility to include developing timeline, critical path, and additional work within the bounds of outage
  • Coordinate with equipment rental vendors to ensure necessary equipment brought in on-time for scheduled work packages
  • Accurately forecast available manhours for short term planning
  • Manage contractor packages, including on-site orientation and safety training of contractors, certificates of insurance and contractor files.
  • Coordinates with contractors to develop scope of work on maintenance within individual area of responsibility
  • Identify recurring maintenance problems and perform root cause analysis, assign action items, and drive to completion to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Drive continuous improvement of the program and processes
  • Understand and follow Management of Change processes based off ISO 9001
  • Inform appropriate management and maintenance/production associates of potential mechanical problems and inherent dangers involved.
  • Assist other maintenance personnel with technical troubleshooting.

 

QUALIFICATIONS - REQUIRED

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Previous experience in Energy, Chemical, or Pharmaceutical production environment
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite applications, creating and editing Word documents and Excel spreadsheets
  • Willing and able to work overtime and take calls as necessary (plant operations are 24/7, 365)
  • Experience reading and following control scheme, electrical and maintenance schematics/blueprints
  • Experience with work management software or Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with little supervision
  • Ability to work well with others at all levels of the organization
  • Physically able to maneuver/roll full 55-gallon drums with the aid of proper tools, lift 25 kg bags, climb long vertical ladders, move heavy equipment, and have the ability to move freely in cramped quarters. 
  • Must be able to wear a full-face respirator when needed
  • Willingness to work all required shifts, including nights and weekends.

 

QUALIFICATIONS - PREFERRED

  • OSHA 30-hour for General Industry
  • Strong understanding of Reliability Centered Maintenance Concepts
  • Certified Maintenance and Reliability Technician (CMRT)
  • Documented training in Job Planning and Scheduling
  • Experience using Microsoft Project
  • Demonstrated ability to plan outages and lead outage as a central point of contact.
