Milliken's SiVance Plant is a world-class business leader in silicone chemistry, focused on the development and manufacture of specialty silicone technologies at this fully-integrated production facility established in 1953 in Gainesville, Florida. The 65-acre site contains Research & Development laboratories, analytical capabilities for chemical analysis and route development, and production facilities ranging from lab scale, to pilot and commercial scale, allowing SiVance to move innovations through the development pipeline in relatively short order. At the SiVance plant, more than 130 associates produce hundreds of silicon-based products considered vital to the performance and value of industrial and consumer products manufactured around the world.

 

SUMMARY: The Engineering Services Manager is responsible for the management of operations in the Maintenance Department, its personnel and for ensuring the proper maintenance and reliable operation of all process equipment, utility systems, buildings, and infrastructure systems at the site.  In addition, they are responsible for ensuring compliance and leading improvement of safety and quality in the of operations of the department.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Ensure proper maintenance and reliable operation of all process equipment, utility systems, buildings, and infrastructure systems at the site.
    1. Work with other departments at the site to manage overall priorities.
    2. Continuously improve reliability, minimize downtime and reduce maintenance costs.
    3. Collaborate on a multi-year program of capital and maintenance projects.
    4. Manage both internal and external resources as required.
  2. Manage the hiring, development and performance of all maintenance personnel.
  3. Implement capital and expense projects including:
    1. Translation of customer’s requirements into a defined project scope.
    2. Development of project deliverables.
    3. Evaluate safety issues in the design and implementation of projects and take the necessary steps to minimize risk.
  4. Lead the safety program in the maintenance organization.
    1. Implement continuous improvement in participation, practices and systems within the group.
    2. Encourage and require active participation from all members of the group in the site’s associate led safety program and their adherence to all plant safety policies and regulatory requirements at the site.
  5. Actively support the site’s quality program by understanding and ensuring the department’s compliance with the Milliken Quality Policy, Standard Operating Procedure(s) (SOPs), relevant ISO 9000 standards and Company Policies.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  1. BS in an Engineering discipline.
  2. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in maintenance activities within a manufacturing plant.
  3. Experience with the supervision and management of hourly associates.
  4. Familiarity with legal requirements of the construction and process industry (Environmental, PSM, OSHA, etc.).
  5. High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project.

Preferred:

  1. Experience in chemical plant operations.
  2. Experience with industrial construction.
  3. Experience with preventive, predictive, and reliability-centered maintenance.
