Job Description

The Control Equipment Technician (CET) is responsible for performing general and preventive maintenance on the electrical & mechanical systems on the equipment. Responsible for trouble shooting and calibrating and servicing electrical & mechanical systems and sensors. This associate will also be well versed in production equipment and can fill in as an operator as needed by the department.

The troubleshooter is responsible for responding to equipment breakdowns and/or trouble calls from the manufacturing processes, with the goal of minimizing downtime and providing process support to achieve quality and production goals.  The successful candidate will have good problem-solving skills, knowledge and experience with mechanical and electrical maintenance of industrial processes.  The position reports to the Supervisor (VOHS) in the Tile Print department but works closely with the designated team lead.  The CET shall be self-motivated, demonstrate strong communication skills, and must be able to work with others in a team environment.

Primary job functions include reactive/preventive electrical and mechanical maintenance of production and auxiliary equipment.  Additionally, the CET will be assigned to project work ranging from housekeeping to process improvements that will be generated from our day to day manufacturing operations. Job responsibilities include maintenance of electrical systems, troubleshooting breakdowns, electrical, pneumatic and/or mechanical along with abnormal machine and/or process operations. Position will also assist with maintaining spare parts inventory, working with or leading contractors, completing work orders assigned, and complying with all plant safety rules and procedures.

 

Schedule

The Tile Print CET will work the below schedule.

Various shift schedules are available.

 

The CET will work a minimum eight hours per day to average 44 hours per week. Opportunities may arise that will allow the CET to work over these eight hours to help meet maintenance demands.

Job Requirements

  • Complete demonstrated skill progression targets at expected rate.
  • Actively participate in the Live Oak Complex safety process. This includes complying with all safety rules and procedures.
  • Work the scheduled hours.
  • Be available for after hour support on weekend / evenings as required.
  • Able to interact effectively with management, staff, vendors, customers, and work independently, and/or as part of a team.
  • Available to supplement running the range as an operator as necessary.

Required Technical Skills

  • Associate must have minimum 2 years industrial electrical/mechanical experience.  A 2-year electrical or electro-mechanical degree from an accredited school is preferred, but not required.
  • Associate must have working knowledge of the tools and materials common to the electrical trade.
  • Associate must have strong electrical/mechanical knowledge that includes; drive systems, piping systems, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
  • Associate must have strong working knowledge of proper piping systems and installation techniques; including threaded and welded pipe.
  • Read and comprehend electrical/mechanical drawings and schematics.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and capable of using motorized equipment (i.e. fork lifts, tuggers, jig lift, etc.)
