For our European Chemical Division, Milliken is currently looking for a Account Manager Plastic Additives Downstream.

As a member of the downstream sales team, reporting to our Sales Manager, the account manager is responsible for the growth and development of our customers in the plastics and packaging industry in DACH region.

The scope of responsibilities can be summarized as follows: 

  • Accomplishment of sales objectives within an assigned group of customers. 
  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with key accounts at all levels (R&D, Technical Support, Marketing, Senior Management, and Purchasing). 
  • Drive and manage joint projects with our customers from development to commercialization (your industry and product line knowledge combined with your close interaction with our technical experts, allows you to qualify our customers’ needs and participate in offering solutions). 
  • Coordinate all Milliken activities to provide customers with a consistent and coherent service. 
  • Monitor competitive activity within accounts and disseminate information to relevant parties
  • Responsible for identification of potential new Key Accounts and formulation/implementation of account penetration plans.
  • Stay up to date with market trends and take actions if needed.

 

Profile

  • Preferably Master’s degree (chemistry, chemical engineering or commercial studies)
  • You have 5 years sales experience in B2B sales. Experience in plastics and packaging industry is an asset.
  • Strong technical background, commercial and communication skills. 
  • A born problem-solver, a team player and you have an analytical mindset. 
  • You are self-motivated and you have entrepreneurial dynamism.
  • This position requires significant time travelling throughout Europe (min. 50%).
  • You speak fluently German & English. Other languages are a plus. Preferably based in Germany.
