POSITION OVERVIEW

The Production Facilitator is a hands-on manufacturing leader responsible for coordinating production and quality activities across assigned product lines. This role blends technical quality facilitation, production oversight, and people leadership to ensure safe, efficient, high-quality operations. The Production Facilitator works closely with hourly associates, Process Improvement, Lab, Development, Maintenance, and Management to meet production, cost, quality, delivery, and safety objectives.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Production & Quality Facilitation

• Coordinate and facilitate daily production and quality activities across the manufacturing process, including raw material receipt, knitting, grading, finishing, and shipping.
• Walk production machines daily to verify settings, control logs, audits, and quality standards.
• Monitor yarn, creel changes, lab headends, and critical machine settings; coordinate disposition of nonconforming materials.
• Inspect fabric and production samples; ensure validated test methods and inspections are executed accurately.
• Own defect identification and resolution processes, including leading defect teams and maintaining SPC data on key quality issues.
• Coordinate with Lab, Development, and Yarn Suppliers to understand critical quality measures and changing conditions.
• Support new product trials, style changes, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Adjust job assignments as required based on staffing levels and business priorities.

Leadership & Team Development

• Serve as a visible floor leader who models safe work practices, accountability, and teamwork.
• Facilitate daily communication with associates to align production goals, quality expectations, and safety requirements.
• Help train, coach, and develop operators, inspectors, and technicians on proper procedures, quality standards, and problem-solving techniques.
• Foster an environment of open communication, continuous feedback, and associate engagement.
• Support onboarding, cross-training, and skill development to build workforce capability and flexibility.

Safety, Compliance & Administration

• Ensure associates are trained and compliant with safety requirements, ISO standards, and company procedures.
• Maintain accurate documentation related to quality audits, inspections, training, and production reporting.
• Assist with preparation for business reviews, performance meetings, and operational reporting.
• Collaborate with HR and management on attendance, performance feedback, and corrective actions as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma or GED

• Experience in manufacturing operations, quality facilitation, or production leadership (textile or industrial environment preferred).
• Working knowledge of machine operations, quality systems, inspections, and audits.
• Ability to interpret technical specifications, procedures, and quality data.
• Proficiency with basic computer applications (Excel, Word, reporting tools).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with knit or similar production environments.
• Prior leadership, lead operator, or facilitator experience.
• Knowledge of ISO, SPC, continuous improvement, or lean manufacturing practices.
