Job Summary:
This position is located at Milliken & Company’s Polartec Tennessee Manufacturing Plant in Cleveland, TN and reports to the Human Resource Manager. The Advanced Human Resource Coordinator acts as a key operational partner, supporting recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, and compliance. They enhance HR processes, maintain employee records, utilize HRIS, and act as a primary point of contact for employee inquiries. This role demands strong communication, analytical skills, and regulatory knowledge to drive employee experience and engagement. This position will require extended hours at times and working across different shifts.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Maintain files, records, and reports in Human Resources Talent Central, Workforce and SAP Management System (turnover, safety, local/regional compensation data)
- Administer core Human Resources functions and compliance areas to include:
- Safety Process
- Onboarding/Offboarding
- Company Policies and Procedures
- Benefits, Retirement, and Leave Programs (FMLA)
- Salary Administration
- Workers Compensations
- File Unemployment with TN.Gov for associates as needed
- Lead the talent acquisition process including developing/maintaining job descriptions, sourcing, screening, and interviewing candidates, maintaining the Talent Central job posting system.
- Liaison with payroll, absence recording, and holiday recording systems
- Assist associates and applicants with employment, rules, policies, and job opportunities
- Act as a trusted advisor and thought partner to the Human Resources Manager, and management team on all location matters (tactical, operational and strategic).
- Coordinate new hire staffing and 1st Day activities
- Lead special HR related projects, surveys, or initiatives
- Demonstrate a high level of confidentiality.
Qualifications – Required:
- Ability to speak, write and read the English language
- Solid understanding of local, state, and federal laws, such as FLSA, FMLA, EEOC and ADA regulations.
- Ability to read and prepare a variety of documents and reports including requisitions, Leave of Absence (General and FMLA), Insurance (Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Disability, & COBRA) and other office correspondence
- Ability to communicate and interact with associates, vendors, and the public, while exhibiting poise, voice control and confidence
- Proficient in PC hardware components, desktop operating system software, application software, Human Resource SAP and Microsoft Office
Qualifications - Preferred:
- Human Resource Certification SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP and HRCI’s aPHR/PHR/SPHR in aPHR or PHR (Professional in Human Resources)
- Bi-lingual communication (English/Spanish)
- Minimum 2-year associate’s degree preferred or equivalent experience in Human Resources.
- Proficient in Workforce.
- Manufacturing environment experience.
- OSHA guidelines and workplace safety processes experience
