Job Summary: A Weft Insertion Threader is responsible for setting up, operating and maintaining Weft Insertion machines; the Threader will insert warp, weft and knitting yarns in machine for running production, assist Technicians in starting up machines, assist in the relief of Weft operators, while they are on break; maintaining a clean and orderly work area.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, other duties may be assigned.

 

  • Must work safe, follow all plant safety work rules and attend required safety training and meetings.
  • Thread and monitor yarn through guides, needles and rollers, ensuring proper tension and alignment.
  • Must ensure optimal quality by watching for defects, repair issues like broken threads or missed picks.
  • Adjust components such as tensioners, nozzles and sensors to maintain smooth weft insertion.
  • Must be able to work from elevated heights and demonstrate the ability to use basic math.
  • Assist Technicians in removing or replacing guide bars.
  • Responsible for good housekeeping.
  • Must follow Supervisor / Lead instructions, inform Supervisor of any problems with yarn on machine.
  • Will perform any other duties as directed by the department Lead/ Supervisor/Manager.
