The Technician Apprentice position is located at the Magnolia Finishing Plant in Blacksburg, SC and will report to the Engineering Services Engineer in Controls.  The Magnolia Plant has a diverse range of control systems on its production machinery, including some smaller relay logic systems, to PLC's, to Distributed Control Systems (DCS's).  Machinery drives range from modern networked AC inverters, Smart Networked AC Inverters, Networked Servo Drives, and DC Drives.

Requirements:

The Technician Apprentice is responsible for learning to perform general and preventive maintenance on the electrical systems on the equipment, trouble shooting, calibrating, and servicing electrical systems and sensors.

Qualifications:

•Minimum 2.5 GPA

•Must be enrolled full-time in a Mechatronics program at a partner technical college.

•Commitment to attend school year-round.

•Commitment to working part-time hours per week at Milliken & Company – Magnolia Finishing Plant

•Positive attitude toward learning and growing as a Milliken Apprentice.

 

Responsibilities:

•Assist other engineering associates to perform work as required to keep production machinery and auxiliary equipment in working order.

•Assist with repairing breakdowns

•Complete work that is required on department worklist.

•Reinstall guards and safety equipment correctly after completion of any work.

•Replace and clean worn brushes

•Work on D.C. / A.C. motors, breakers and other equipment switches.

•Work with analog and digital voltage and current signals

•Work on exhaust fan and motors

•Read electrical drawings and work on electrical components on machinery.

•Be able to work in a hot temperature environment

•Participate in the safety process

 

Pay: $20.49 top rate
